يا نفسُ عودي للحياةِ وأمّلي

فالخيرُ آتٍ في الصباحِ المُقبلِ

O soul, return to life and hope

For goodness is coming in the next morning

لا تجزعي مما أصابكِ وارفعي

للهِ في الآفاقِ كفّ مُؤَمِّلِ

Do not despair of what has befallen you, rise up

To God in the horizons, a hopeful palm

وتوشّحي ثوبَ السعادةِ والرضا

وتلحّفي بالصبرِ كي لا تذبُلي

And dress in the garment of happiness and contentment

And wrap yourself in patience so you do not wilt

فلَعَلَّ أوجاعَ السنينِ ستنْتَهِي

وعَسى الأَسى يوماً يزولُ وينْجَلِي

Perhaps the sorrows of the years will end

And grief one day will disappear and unravel

فاللهُ باللُّطف الخفِيّ يُجيرُنا

ويُبدّلُ الأحزانَ بالفرحِ الجَلي

For God with subtle kindness protects us

And replaces sorrows with evident joy

سُبحانهُ وسِعَ الخلائقَ فضلُهُ

حاشاهُ تُعجِزُهُ إجابةُ سائلِ

Glory to Him, His grace encompasses all creatures

Exalted is He, the supplication of a questioner does not weary Him

فترقّبي غيمَ السماءِ وأبشري

وإذا تأخّرت الغيومُ.. تفاءلي

So watch for the clouds in the sky and rejoice

And if the clouds are delayed...be optimistic
