And you killed my heart when you hurt me.
And stabbed me, O my oppressor, in the flank.
You left me pain and a deep wound,
and made me drink the bitterness of treacherous life.
Had your offense been fleeting, I would have forgiven it
and concealed it, that I might gain the Hereafter.
But an injustice that stirs my anguish—
and my tears—I could never forgive it.
A wound upon my heart—can it forgive an oppressor?
For injustice remains deeply embedded in memory.
I shall pour out all my anguish to the All-Merciful,
and defer my grievance until the Day of the Hereafter.
