ياغائبين وفي الأعماقِ منزلكُم

مازالَ يملأُ قلبي باللقا أملُ

O absent ones, though you dwell in the depths

My heart is still filled with hope of meeting you

لا تحسبوا البُعدَ أنساني مودّتكم

فحبلُ وِدّيَ باقٍ ليسَ ينفصلُ

Do not think distance can diminish my affection

For the cord of love remains unsevered

ها قد أتى العيدُ والأشواق تأسِرُني

متى يحينُ اللقا والعينُ تكتحلُ

Behold, the feast day comes and longing binds me

When will the day of reunion be, when eyes are painted?

فالعيدُ يزدادُ حُسناً بعدَ رؤيتكم

فتبهَجُ الروحُ والأيامُ تحتفِلُ

The feast grows lovelier after seeing you

The soul rejoices and days celebrate

إن باعدَتْنا ظروفٌ فوقَ طاقتِنا

فإنّ أرواحنا بالحُبّ تتّصلُ

If circumstances have distanced us beyond our strength

Still our souls are joined by love

لن يُوحِشَ اللهُ قلبي رغمَ لهفتهِ

لأنكم في دعائي حين أبتهلُ

God will not leave my heart desolate despite its yearning

For you are in my prayers when I implore
