فَاروقُ، يا ربَّ اليد البيضاءِ

يا خيرَ بنّاءٍ لخير بناءِ

Farouq, O Lord of the fair hand,

O best builder of the best building,

حيَّتْك جامعةٌ وضعتَ أساسها

ومنَحتها اسمَك زينةَ الأسماء

Your university that you laid its foundation

And gave it your name, the finest of names,

العلم قد أهدى قلادته إلى

مَن ذاتُه جلَّتْ عن الإِهداء

Knowledge has granted its necklace to

One whose essence transcended granting,

يزهو بنور العلم تاجُك، مثلمَا

يزهو بنور جبينك الوضَّاء

Your crown shines with the light of knowledge, as

Shines the light on your shining forehead,

من ذا الذي رَفعِ العلوم مكانةً

حتى تُتوِّج هامة الجوزاء؟

Who is it that raised the status of sciences

Until it crowns the pinnacle of grandeur?

إنا عهدنا المُلكَ يبسط كفه

للعلم قبل اليوم بالإعطاء

We knew kings extending their palms

To knowledge before today by giving,

مِن معجزاتك يا زمانَ النسور: أَنْ

نال الملوكُ جوائز العلماء

Among your miracles, O era of eagles, that

Kings have won the prizes of scholars
