1. اللهَ في هول المُصابْ

    جَزعَ الشبابُ على الشَّبابْ!!

    In the horror of tragedy

    The youths grieve for the youth!!

  2. نجمٌ تألَّقَ برهَةً

    وخبا كما ذاب الحَباب

    A star shone for a moment

    Then faded like dissolving dust

  3. ومهنَّدٌ، قد كان فيـ

    ـه لقومه أملٌ، فخاب

    And Mahnad, who was

    A hope for his people, failed

  4. ما كاد يشحذُ غَربهُ

    حتى تضمَّنهُ القِراب

    He barely sharpened his exile

    Before he entered the grave

  5. حرٌّ، كريمٌ، عاش في الدّ

    نيا غريبًا، ثمَّ آب

    Free, generous, he lived in the world as a stranger, then passed on

    He started to calculate, while death was calculating

  6. قد باتَ يحسبُ في حسا

    بٍ، والمنيَّةُ في حساب

    He settled in the dust, yet it

    Is the essence of pure gold

  7. سَكَن التّرابَ، وإِنَّهُ

    هو معدِن الذَّهب اللُّباب

    May God pardon him! What is there for the deceased and the youth?

    Does he bid us farewell thus without reaching the fullness of years?

  8. ربَّاهُ معذرةً، أَلا

    ما للمنُون وللشباب؟

    But He, praise be to Him,

    "Predestined the fortunes, so no complaining!"

  9. أكذا يودِّعُنا، ولم

    يبلُغ من العُمر النِّصاب؟

    Abdullateef, you left a sky laden with clouds

    And left a house, sweet yet bitter, mirage-filled

  10. لكنَّهُ سبحانه

    «قسم الحظوظَ فلا عتاب»!

    Ruined alike for dwellers of the wild and those in tombs

    And all are in agony, for death is grasping

  11. عبدَ اللطيفِ، رَحلتَ عن

    جوٍّ تشبَّع بالضباب

    And people in life are like the crew of a ship amidst surging waves

    Saving themselves from drowning was not guaranteed against turmoil

  12. وتركتَ دارًا، حلوُها

    مرٌّ، وصيَّبُها سراب

    Death is an unrecognizable guest wandering every door

    When he called Abdullateef to his hospitality, he recoiled

  13. سيَّان: من سكان اليبا

    بَ بها، ومن سكن القِباب

    He gave his life for him and quenched his thirst with his blood

    Longing for him, bleary-eyed, grey-haired!

  14. والكلُّ منها في عذا

    بٍ، والمنيَّةُ منه قاب

    Blood-drenched from the youth, frightening with traces of blood

    In an ill-omened room, a dwelling leading to ruin

  15. والناسُ في الدنيا كركْ

    ب سفينة وسط العُباب

    If only it were a desolate wilderness where ravens wander

    The news of the exam came in the morning, and robbed me of composure!

  16. أن تَنجُ من غرقٍ بهم

    لم يَسلموا مَن الاضطراب

    I kept writing while my tears mixed with the ink!

    My hands shake on the paper from the horror of tragedy

  17. الموتُ ضيف منكرٌ

    أبدًا يطوفُ بكلِّ باب

    As if the specter of crime in the question and answer

    Was inflicted by the hand of a criminal like a flower ruined by flies

  18. لما دعا عبدَ اللطيـ

    ـفِ إلى وفادَته أهاب

    My wonder at him: How did he rise from dust to clouds?

    Until he saw his hand reaching out to this wing

  19. بذل الحياةَ له قِرى

    وسقاهُ من دمه الشراب

    And he threw the meteor, so how was he not burnt when it blazed?

    With what heart did he treat him unjustly?

  20. لهفي عليه شاخص العيـ

    ـنين مصَفرَّ الإهاب!

    Even if made of solid rock it would have melted

    Wretched people! From them the wolves learn murder

  21. متخضبًا بدم الشَّبا

    بِ يروعُ من أَثر الخِضابِ

    O criminal! When did dogs pounce on the lion?

    Why did you not fear God with those pure souls?

  22. في حجرةٍ مشئومةٍ

    سكنٌ يجرُّ إلى خراب

    God in this ordeal! If only your confusion would cease!

    Will you defend your dirty actions with lies or scripture?

  23. يا ليتها بَهماءُ ينَعـ

    ـبُ في مفاوزها الغراب

    You have destroyed a flourishing branch and robbed a jewel of desire

    And caused me anguish, while fate persistently claws and bites

  24. خبرٌ صبيحةَ الامتحا

    نَ أَتى، فأفقدني الصواب!

    I had a life full of grace by his side and it was sweet

    Days when a blessed house brought us together

  25. فظَلِلتُ أكتبُ، والدمو

    ع معَ المدادِ لها انسكاب!

    "The House of Judgement" - but where is that house or where are the companions?

    One who dies by assassination, not by sword, they reproach

  26. ويدايَ ترتجفان في القر

    طاسِ من هول المصاب

    The pigeon, son of the Waleed, was expensive on the deathbed, so it was distasteful

    Just as he sought killers with a hand that exhausted efforts

  27. وكأنما شبحُ الجري

    مةِ في السؤال وفي الجواب

    So go to your Lord, crimson-clothed

    His creation knows you, and with Him is excellent reward

  28. أَودَى على يد مجرمٍ

    كالزَّهر يُتلفه الذباب

    For you, my Lord, are my witness - a martyr of knowledge and exile!

  29. عجبي عليه: كيف طا

    رَ من التراب إلى السحاب؟

  30. حتى رأَى يده قد ام

    تَدَّت إلى هذا الجناب

  31. ورمى الشهاب فكيف لم

    يُحرقهُ حين هوىَ الشهاب؟

  32. وبأيِّ قلبِ غالَهُ؟

    لو قُدَّ من صخرٍ لذاب

  33. تعسَ الأنامُ؛ فمنهم

    تتعلَّمُ الفتكَ الذئاب

  34. يأيُّها الجاني، متى

    صالتْ على الأُسد الكلاب؟

  35. هلا رعيت الله في

    تلك الأفانينِ الرِّطاب؟

  36. الله في هذا المُسا

    لِمَ! ليتَ كفَّكَ في تَبَاب!

  37. أيذودُ مديتَكَ الصقي

    لةَ باليراع أم الكتاب؟

  38. أذوَيتَ غصنًا ناضرًا

    وسلبتَ كنزًا من رغاب

  39. وفجعتَني، والدَّهرُ لا

    ينفَكُّ ذا ظِفرٍ وناب

  40. في صاحبٍ كم رقَّ لي

    عيشٌ بجانبه وطاب

  41. أيامَ تجمعُني به

    دارٌ مباركةٌ الرِّحاب

  42. «دارُ القضاء» وأينَ منـ

    ـكَ الدارُ أم أين الصِّحاب؟

  43. مَن مات حتفَ الأنف لا

    بالسيف عندهُمُ يُعاب

  44. غال الحِمامُ ابنَ الولي

    دِ على الفراش، فما استطاب

  45. كما كان يطلبُ قتلةً

    بيدٍ فأعياهُ الطِّلاب

  46. فاذهب لربِّك قاني الـ

    ـدَّمِ أُرجُوانيَّ الثياب

  47. جارب خليقُتهُ علي

    ك، وعنده حسن الثواب

  48. فلأنت ربُّ شهادت

    ين: شهيدُ علمٍ، واغتراب!
