1. In all my needs, I shall petition the All-Generous,

entreating Him through the Name of the All-Magnificent.

  2. He sees my weakness, my poverty, and my need,

and is described as the All-Merciful, the All-Generous.

  3. None besides Him possesses even the naqīr—the tiny groove in a date-stone—

nor the qiṭmīr—its thin membrane—together with the attribute “the All-Forbearing.”

  4. So I ask Him for favor everlasting,

to clothe me in freedom from need through the Name of the All-Knowing,

  5. to repel from me the evil of the whole universe,

and to govern every mādh [unclear] through the All-Wise.
