Oh to the one who informs 'Amr ibn Hind

The fair maid will not lack a suitor

Just as you led us out from the land of truthfulness

Where the joyous find a dwelling place

Just as the girl of the tribe said when

Her soul felt an overwhelming army

To her father at night she showed

A tomcat though the darkness hid its flow

Can't you see the succession of cats

Even if left alone they'd sleepily dream
