لين صار الكون من حولي حزين

Until the defiant meaning softened

وامتثل حرف القصيد وعادني

وانسكب شعرك على حزني حنين

And the letter of the poem obeyed and returned me

And your poetry poured over my sorrow, yearning

شلت انا صوتك وحزنك شالني

اكتم الصرخه وينساب الأنين

I was paralyzed, your voice and sadness carried me

I hid my scream as the moan flowed

شفت حزنك كيف حزنك شافني

كيف داهم خلوتي في لحظتين

I saw how your sadness saw me

How it stormed my solitude in moments

طير انا مثلك زماني ضامني

جرحتني مثلك سيوف السنين

Like you, time has robbed me

You wounded me like the swords of years

صابك اللي من زماني صابني

في معاليق الحشا جرحه دفين

What has been hurting me for years has hurt you

In the tribulations of life, a buried wound

كلّما ودعت هم زارني

من عذاب الوجد بياح الكنين

Whenever worries visited me

From the torment of passion, the wails of elegy

الفرح عقب الصداقه هابني

خافت البسمه على وجهي تبين

Joy after friendship has abandoned me

The smile faded from my face, evident

طير ياللي صوت حزنك صابني

الله اللي ينتصر للصابرين

Oh you, whose voice's sadness hit me

God, who avenges the patient
