لبست الّليل وعانقني قمرها

وزفّتني نجوم الليل ساري

ركبت الموج أسافر في بحرها

على شطّين ليلي مع نهاري

I rode the waves, traveling in its sea

On two shores, my night and my day

وعيني صاحبت لاجلك سهرها

وقلبي وهّج الظّلما بناري

And my eyes befriended sleeplessness for your sake

And my heart ignited the darkness with my fire

غروب الشمس أواصله بْسحرها

بنورٍ من شعاع الحب جاري

The sunset continues with its magic

With light flowing from the rays of love

وإذا شفتك نسيت أطول شهرها

وطارت فرحتي والوقت طارِِِ

And when I see you, I forget its longest month

And my joy flew, time flew away

ضحك في عيني بشوفك بصرها

وغنَّى سمعي بْصوت الكناري

Your sight makes my eyes laugh

And my hearing sings with the melody of the lute

وهلّت غيمتي باحْلى مطرها

وطالت كل الأغصان القصارِ

Its finest rain poured from its cloud

And all the short branches flourished

رعاك الله يا ناعم زهرها

تفوح بريحك ريْاض الصحارى

May God protect you, softness of its flower

Whose fragrance spreads through the deserts
