حامل ريح الخزامي والنفل

From a gazelle playing coquettishly

I was dazzled by the glimpse of her shadow

يذبح العشاق صعاب المنال

كم شطير بالقناصة قد قتل

Conquering the hearts of lovers is arduous

Many a hunter has been slain by her glances

مثل شمس العيد فضاح الجمال

كل نجم لا ظهر نوره افل

Like the sun of Eid, revealing her beauty

Every star pales that her light appears

خصني بمواجه السحر الحلال

واشهد ان السحر في قلبي نزل

She has blessed me with her enchanting gaze

And I bear witness, enchantment fills my heart

ضاري بمقابل فحول الرجال

وارتعش قلبي من الفتنه خجل

Triumphing over the bravest of men

My heart quivers, shy from her allure

قلت راح العمر من دون الوصال

قال لو حاولت يا القاطع حصل

I said, life has gone by without union

He said, if you try, you may yet attain

قلت لوني طامع لو بالخيال

كان بدلت التوجد بالأمل

I said, though I yearn, if only in my dreams

I could replace longing with hope

يا ندى الغيمه على ورد الجبال

يا عبير زهور ريضان السهل

O morning dew on the roses of the hills

O fragrance of flowers, delight of the valley

اجتمع حسن الحلا بك والجلال

ما تبدل بك مع العالم بدل

You encompass beauty, grace and glory

You will never change, for all the world's tides
