When the spears retract their oaths,

And men's plans start to fail,

When you see a shooting star streaking the spearshafts

And Sa'iyah is called out amidst them and Samawwal,

And you see it amidst the houses as if it were

A grey morning star flashing in the horizon,

And Gudair was called out amidst the men when they lined up,

Three groups of one-eyed and cross-eyed men.
