By God, O you peerless in your beauty,
and turning Harut about between your eye sockets,
and giving your buttocks dominion over your waist,
and clasping your anklet with your braids,
do not be angry with a youth content with whatever
you have bestowed on him—even if you made his eye your sandal—
and who conceals secrets so closely that he
guards them even from passing through his mind.
