1. كَأَنَّمَا الجَمْرُ وَالرَّمَادُ وَقَدْ

    كَادَ يُوَارِي مِنْ نُورِهِ النُّورَا

    As though embers and ashes were about to

    Conceal the light with more light,

  2. وَرْدٌ جَنِيُّ القِطَافِ أَحْمَرُ قَدْ

    ذَرَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الأَكُفُّ كَافُورَا

    A rose whose clusters are picked red

    Had camphor sprinkled on it by palms.
