طَلَعَتْ في مُصَبَّغْ جُلَّنَارِي
طلعَةَ البَدْرِ في ابتداءِ النَهارِ
She appeared in a robe dyed pomegranate-blossom red,
like the full moon rising at the start of day.
طاف من حولها الجواري فقُلْنَا ال
بدرُ حَفَّتْ به النَّجُومُ الدَّرَارِي
The maidens circled around her, and we said: the
full moon, encircled by radiant stars.
خَيْزُرَانِيَّةُ المعاطِفِ قَصْرِيْ
يَةُ قصرِ الطِّرَارِ والأَكْوَارِ
Bamboo-supple in her curves, a Qasr-
maiden, of Qasr of borders and turban coils.
كتبَ الصُّدْغُ فوق عارِضِها قا
فاً من الليل في أديمِ نَهَارِ
Her temple-lock traced above her cheek a qā-
f of night upon the skin of day.
