Mihrajān has a claim upon you—one ordained

By your forefathers of old; so render it its due.

Go early to greet it with all-enfolding wine, urging its flow

Pure amid spring’s blossoms and its roses—

A cup in which you see your likeness, received from the hands

Of a cupbearer whose cheek displays the cup’s own likeness.
