رُوِيْنَ وهو عَقِيقٌ في ثَرَى ذَهَبِ
Farewell set pearls coursing through her eyes, pearls already
drenched—the tear itself carnelian in a bed of gold:
دُرٍّ بِرِيحِ الوَرْدِ مُنْتَشِرٌ
من نَرْجِسٍ غَرِقِ الأَجْفَانِ مُنْتَحِبِ
pearls scattered by the rose’s breeze,
from a sobbing narcissus, its eyelids drowned in tears.
