A meadow pleased by the rain's handiwork

As a friend is pleased by a friend

When morning showers make it joyous

It perfects its adornment in the mist

It mocks the wind with breezes

As though its flowers were pure musk

As though the dew were scattered upon it

Remnants of tears on a lover's cheek

As though its branches were watered with wine

That rivaled the drink of the pure

As though the anemones within it

Were blossoms of emerald in goblets

As though the wild narcissi in it

Were kisses of clay for the creation

    Its violets remind me

Of the art of moisture on a delicate cheek
