وَشَقَائِقٍ خَجِلَتْ مَلاَحَةُ لَوْنِهِ
فَلَهُ التَّعَصْفُرُ مُسْعِدٌ وَشَقِيْقُ
And anemones—the beauty of their hue has blushed;
Safflower coloring is their helper and brother.
يَرْنُو بِأَرْقَطِهِ إِلَى مُحْمَرَّةٍ
فَاللَّحْظُ جِزْعٌ وَالْجُفُونُ عَقِيْقُ
They gaze with their speckled eyes toward a crimson bloom;
Their gaze is onyx, and their eyelids carnelian.
