قُمْ قَدْ أَتَى ضَوْءُ الصَّبَاحِ المُسْفِرِ

يَا صَاحِ نَغْتَنِمِ الهَوَا وَنُبَكِّرِ

Arise, for morning's radiant light has come,

My friend, let's seize the air and early start.

نَلْمِمْ بِتِيْنٍ لَذَّ طَعْمَاً وَاكْتَسَى

حُسْنَاً وَقَارَبَ مَنْظَرَاً مِنْ مَخْبَرِ

Partake of luscious figs, whose taste is sweet,

Whose beauty rivals fabrics fine and rare.

كَالثَّلْجِ بَرْدَاً فِي صَفَاءِ التَّبْرِ فِي

رِيْحِ العَبِيْرِ وَفَوْقَ طَعْمِ السُّكَّرِ

Like snow, so cold beneath a cloudless sky,

Mid fragrant breeze and over sugar's taste.

لَطُفَتْ مَعَانِيْهِ لَطَافَةَ عَاشِقٍ

فِي لَوْنِ مُشَتَاقٍ حَلِيْفِ تَفَكُّرِ

Its meaning is as gentle as a lover

Lost in thought, whose face longing has graced.

يَحْكِي إِذَ مَا صُفَّ فِي أَطْبَاقِهِ

خَيَمَاً ضُرِبْنَ مِنَ الحَرِيْرِ الأَصْفَرِ

It tells, when layered on its serving dish,

Of tents of yellow silk stretched overhead.
