My tearful eyes brought me joy and sorrow,
Do not cease weeping or find respite,
For the fair one's demise has caused distress,
Taking her from palaces and laying her in a tomb.
May God water that body with a body,
And may that soul receive that soul.
If I were dust I would not waste away,
When a beautiful face is turned towards me.
