أَلَسْتَ تَرَى الظَّلاَمَ وَقَدْ تَوَلَّى
وَعُنْقُودَ الثُّرَيَّا قَدْ تَدَلَّى
Do you not see the darkness as it departs
And the grape cluster hangs low?
فَدُونَكَ قَهْوَةً لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْهَا
تَقَادُمُ عَهْدِهَا إِلاَّ الأَقَلاَّ
So make yourself a coffee untouched
With only its stale grounds remaining
بَزَلْنَا دَنَّهَا واللَّيْلُ دَاجٍ
فَصَيَّرَتِ الدُّجَى شَمْسَاً وَظِلاَّ
We approached it closely as night fell
And the gloom made a sun and shade
