1. وَمَا زِلْتُ أَبْغِي العِلْمَ مِنْ حَيْثُ يُبْتَغَى

    وَأَفْتَنُّ فِي أَصْنَافِهِ وَتَطَرُّفِهْ

    I still seek knowledge wherever it is found

    And revel in its branches and extremes.

  2. فَقَدْ صِرْتُ لا أَلْقَى الَّذِي اسْتَزِيْدُهُ

    وَلاَ يُذْكَرُ الشَّيءُ الَّذِي لَسْتُ أَعْرِفُهْ

    I have now reached where nothing I request

    Remains of things not known that I may glean.
