مُلَمْلَمَاتُ الجسمِ من صيْخُودِ
مُقَنَّعَاتٌ قِطَعَ الجُلُودِ
Round-bodied, made of hard stone,
The body's wizenedness from the cold of old age
Hooded in pieces of hide,
Masked in pieces of skin
مُزَنَّرَاتٌ بخيوطٍ سود
كأنّها المرءُ مِنَ الوَعِيْدِ
Girdled with black threads,
Adorned with black threads
As though they were a man who, fearing a threat,
As if they were man's threats
قد وضع اللُّمَّةَ للسُّجودِ
Has laid his locks down for prostration.
