  4. And I won her deliberately, with no offense

    save my love—and its like was wronged.

  5. She is their full moon, and they are her stars;

    so why should I not choose the moon?

  6. But her owner rebukes me,

    and judged me unjustly when he had the power.

  7. So tears stream, and the heart now holds

    longing's flame within it, so it blazes.

  9. By day he is bewildered and restless,

    and at night he struggles with sleeplessness.

  10. Watchful, he hopes for my return;

    may I be his ransom, as he waits and waits.

  11. And he sees gloating—may I never desist from seeking

    him until I am granted victory.
