تَاللهِ كَيدُكِ دُوْنَهُ كَيْدُ الَّتي

أَدْمَتْ شِغَافَ القَلْبِ وهو سَليْمُ

By God, your scheming is less than that of she

Who kindled in my heart a latent passion, while it was sound

إنْ كانَ خَطْبُ الأمْسِ أحْسَبُ أنَّهُ

يُشْفَىَ , فَإِنَّ الْخَطْبَ مِنْكِ جَسِيْمُ

If yesterday's proposal, I reckon will heal,

Then the proposal from you is momentous

فَالْحُكْمُ في كَيْدِ النِّسَاءِ حَقِيقَةٌ

مُذْ كَانَ آدَمُ في الْجِّنَانِ يُقِيْمُ

So the rule regarding women's scheming is true

Since Adam resided in the gardens

وَلَرُبَّمَا حَسَدُ العُيُونِ قَدِ إخْتَفَى

عَنْ أَعْيُنٍ والشَّرُ فِيهِ وَخِيمُ

And perhaps envy hidden in the eyes has vanished

From eyes, while evil in them remains pervasive
