So let the virtuous be described as such,
For qualities are garments donned by their wearer.
Not all who extend a palm are its ringed seal,
Though the lion remains a predator.
The moon's a moon, though comets cross its face;
Saffron's still saffron in a tunic of rags.
This is the sea's father - ask if you please -
Did you ever see a hybrid outrace a steed?
Turbans are cotton, woven by a man.
True pride is baring one's head, even clothed.
