وحاكمٍ زامل عباده

ولم تزل تلك له عاده

A ruler who lived with his servants

Such has always been his habit

لو جاز لي حكم لما جاز أن

يحكم في قيمة لباده

If I were allowed to judge, it would not be right

That he rules his people's worth

كم من غلامٍ عز في أهله

وافت قفاه منه سجاده

Many a boy prized by his family

Whose locks have been dragged on the ground by him
