1. عوذت مولانا برب الناس

    من شر باغٍ ماكر خناس

    I sought refuge with the Lord of mankind

    From the evil of a deceitful, sly garden

  2. وحفظت من كيد الحسود فانه

    ابداً يوسوس في صدور الناس

    And I was protected from the envy of the envious one for he

    Always whispers malice into the hearts of people

  3. ووقيت من عادٍ جهولٍ دائب

    في ضرب اخماس الى اسداس

    And I was shielded from the harm of an ignorant, incessant one

    Who keeps striking the quintessential to the commoners

  4. فعزيزنا بالاصغرين بقلبه

    ولسانه لا باشتعال الراس

    So you who are dear to us, have a heart

    And tongue for the little ones, not an inflamed head

  5. ولقد عهدنا منك شهم سياسةٍ

    بجليل حكمته يلين القاسي

    And we knew you had the generosity of statesmanship

    With great wisdom that softens the harsh
