واله ضاعت هباء

His death awaits him between land and sky

And for death, when he closes his eyelids, he is food

حتفه يرقبه ما

بين أرض وسماء

What does he hope for in life when hope is lost

Will he be cowardly when cowardice is the weapon of the weak

وهو للموت إذا ما

أغمض الجفن غذاء

Or will he call upon the God of the universe or not call at all

He has nothing left but to face death, and death is life

ما الذي يرجوه في الدن

يا وقد ضاع الرجاء

The principle of the soldier in the battlefield is victory or martyrdom

Crouching like a lion, unbothered by the severe cold

أترى يجبن والجب

ن سلاح الضعفاء

Binding his army, when told: "Get ready, O soldiers!"

The soldier welcomed death in sacrifice for the country

أم ترى يدعو إله ال

كون أم لات دعاء

If he sees the flag raised high, he rejoices

Or if he sees it lowered, he is like a slave

ما له غير اقتحام ال

موت والموت حياة

Let whoever lives, live; the soldier is now a martyr

It is enough for him that his nation lives in prosperity

He has fulfilled the highest duty in that battlefield

Eulogize him, for he is the symbol of glory, the symbol of pride

Make his unknown grave a monument to be visited

Scatter roses on his grave in silence and dignity

And mention the soldier in the battlefield who accepts no escape

Who preferred death over living in humiliation and disgrace

Who watered the land with his blood, so it bore fruit

And you plucked freedom after him in victory

What a dead person he is! Both young and old

Setting a record in self-sacrifice and steadfastness for the highest example

موت فداء للبنود

With patience and resolve for the cause

أو يراها أنزلت فه

فليعش من عاش فالجن

دي قد مات شهيد

حسبه أن ينعم الأح

مجدوه فهو رمز ال

مجد بل رمز الفخار

واجعلوا من قبره المج

وانثروا الورد على القب

واذكروا الجندي في المي

دان لا يرضى الفرار

فضل الموت على عي
