    It to the best fate

    It shone from the sunrise upon the people a giver of good news

  4. شع من طلعة إدري

    س على القوم بشير

    So people called one another with the good tidings

    Young and old

  5. فتنادى القوم بالبش

    رى كبير وصغير

    And the chant of people spread contagiously even to the birds

    So everyone chants

  6. وسرت عدوى هتاف ال

    قوم حتى في الطيور

    Hailing, long live the prince!

    This clamor aroused feelings in my soul

  7. فإذا الكل ينادي

    هاتفا عاش الأمير

    So I headed to the garden to collect bouquets of flowers

    And found the garden chanting

  8. فأثارت هذه الضج

    جة في نفسي الشعور

    Hailing, long live the prince!

    So I went to the calm beach to confide my state

  9. وقصدت الروض كي أج

    مع باقات الزهور

    Ready for the sea’s deep to inspire my imagination

    Hoping it casts some pearls

  10. فإذا الروض ينادي

    خاتفا عاش الأمير

    For me to form into rhythmic poems

    And pride myself with my words

  11. فقصدت الشاطئ الها

    دي أناجيه بحالي

    Hailing this is my prince

    May he remain a pillar of glory

  12. مستعدا من جلال ال

    بحر فيضا لخيالي

    So we see in his reign the realization of those dreams

    Of a sorrowful life changed into the best outcome

  13. عله يقذف من أع

    ماقه بعض اللآلي

    But the waves between question and answer

    Said who is this Idris, owner of great affair?

  14. فأصوغ الدر نظما

    وأباهي بمقالي

    So the sea hailed loudly

    Long live the prince!

    دام ركنا للمعالي

    The charming scene brought tears to my eyes

    And I asked the forest in utmost respect

    صاحب الأمر الخطير

    What made you transform from vicious to tame creatures?

    It said a decisive prince has come protecting the prairies

  20. فانبرى البحر ينادي

    هاتفا عاش الأمير

    So the beasts, snakes, birds

    And all in the forest hailed

  21. فدعاني خاطر مر

    ر على الذكر سريع

    Long live the prince!

    I returned to the neighborhood with new hopes

  22. وقصدت الغاب صيفا

    فإذا الغاب ربيع

    To find something to sing praise

    And found people gathered like resurrection day

  23. حافلا بالزهر والخض

    رة والطير السجوع

    With chants thundering like lightning

    As Idris’ procession appeared like the rising sun

  24. ووحوش الغاب والأن

    غام ترعى في قطيع

    They saw in him a prince who keeps covenants

    Triumphant in freeing the people from bondage

  25. فأثار المنظر الفا

    تن في عيني الدموع

    So the masses rejoiced like a feast day

    And everyone hailed loudly

  26. وسألت الغالب ما بي

    ن اِحترام وخشوع

    Young and old

    Long live Idris, and we are all the prince’s soldiers!

  27. ما الذي أبدلك الوح

    شة بالخلق الوديع

  28. قال قد جاء أمير

    حازم يحمي الربوع

  29. فإذا الوحش تنادي

    والأفاعي والطيور

  30. والذي في الغاب كل

    هاتف عاش الأمير

  31. عدت أدراجي إلى الحي

    ي بمأمول جديد

  32. علني أسطو على شي

    ء أغنيه نشيد

  33. فإذا الناس كيوم ال

    حشر ماجوا في صعيد

  34. وعلت منهم هتافا

    ت تدوي كالرعود

  35. إذ بدا موكب إدري

    س كما تبدو السعود

  36. شهدوا فيه أميرا

    منهم يرعى العهود

  37. ماجدا من سعيه فك

    كت عن الشعب قيود

  38. فغدا الجمهور من فر

    حته في يوم عيد

  39. وانبرى الكل ينادي

    من كبير وصغير

  40. عاش إدريس ونحن

    كلنا جند الأمير
