Sorrow is my sustenance, and misfortune my garment,

O you who has tasted the regret of forefathers.

I bid farewell to my heart the day I bid farewell,

In the embrace of the noble one, the apple of my eye.

Am I alive among the dead after him?

Or am I dead among the living?

The night of worshipers visits me lying in ambush,

As if it is trying to harm me.

And the night carries me on its shoulders,

So there I am, with the night of the miserable.

Expatriation is not to leave a homeland,

But an expatriate is one who parts from his children.
