1. طلع الهلالُ وأفقهُ متهلّلُ

    فمكبِّرٌ لطلوعهِ ومهلُلُ

    The crescent rose, its horizon adorned,

    As some proclaim its rise, while others sing.

  2. أوفى على وجه الصباح بغرّة

    فغدا الصباح بنوره يتجمَلُ

    It graced the face of dawn with a smile,

    So the dawn shone beautifully in its light.

  3. شمس الخلافة قد أمدّت نوره

    وبسعدها يرجو التمام ويكملُ

    The sun of the Caliphate has cast its light,

    And with its good fortune, completion is hoped for.

  4. للهِ منه هلالُ سعد طالعٌ

    لضيائه تعشو البدور الكُمّلُ

    With it rose the crescent of good fortune,

    In its glow, hearts and flowers bloom.

  5. وألحت يا شمس الهداية كوكباً

    يعشْي سناه كلَّ من يتأمّلُ

    And it urged on, O sun of guidance, a star

    That travels through its years for all who ponder.

  6. والتاج تاجُ البدر في أفق العلا

    ما زال بالزُّهر النجومُ يُكَلَّلُ

    The crown is the crown of the full moon in the horizon of glory,

    With flowers still bedecked by stars.

  7. ولئن حَوى كلَّ الجمال فإنه

    بالشهب أبهى ما يكون وأجملْ

    If it contained all beauty, it is still

    More splendid with shooting stars and most fair.

  8. أطلعت يا بدرَ السماح هلالَه

    والملكُ أفق والخلافة منزلُ

    You brought out, O full moon of benevolence, its crescent,

    And the kingdom is the horizon, and the Caliphate, a halt.

  9. يبدو بهالاتِ السروج وإنه

    من نور وجهك في العلا يستكملُ

    It appears with the halos of the saddled horses, and it

    Is completed by the light of your face in the highest heavens.

  10. قلَّدتَ عطف الملك منه صارماً

    بغَنائِهِ ومضائه يُتَمثَّلُ

    You adorned its curve with the emblems of kingship,

    Brightened by its beauty and represented by its silhouette.

  11. حلَّيتَه بحلى الكمال وجوهر الخُلقِ

    النفيس وكلَّ خلق يجمُلُ

    You furnished it with the ornaments of perfection and essence of noble manners,

    The precious and all that is beautiful.

  12. يغزو أمامك والسعود أمامه

    وملائك السبع العلا تتنزّلُ

    It wages holy war before you, and prosperity before it,

    While angels descend from the highest seven heavens.

  13. من مبلغ الأنصار منه بشارة

    غرُّ البشائر بعدها تسترسلُ

    It brings glad tidings from the Helpers’ abode

    Of triumphs to follow in a continuous stream.

  14. أحيا جهادَهم وجدّد فخرهم

    بعد المئين فملكهم يتأثّلُ

    It revived their holy war and renewed their pride

    Two hundred years later; their kingdom was restored.

  15. فيه إلى الأجر الجزيل توصلوا

    وبهم إلى رب السما يتوسَّلُ

    Through it they attained abundant reward,

    And through them to the Lord of heaven prayers ascend.

  16. من مبلغ الأذواء من يمن وهُمْ

    قد تُوِّجوا وتملّكوا وتَقَيَّلوا

    It brings glad tidings from the land of strength and protection,

    Crowned and ruled, abiding by divine decree:

  17. أنّ الخلافة في بنيهم أطلعت

    قمراً به سعدُ الخليقةِ يكملُ

    The Caliphate shone its crescent in their line,

    Bringing good fortune to creation in its perfection.

  18. من مبلغٌ قحطان آساد الشرى

    ما غابُها إلا الوشيح الذُبَّلُ

    It brings glad tidings from Qahtan, lions of mankind,

    Whose glory faded not but the withered stalk.

  19. أنّ الخلافة وهو شبل ليوثهم

    قد حاط منها الدينَ ليث مُشبلُ

    The Caliphate, while still a cub of their lions,

    Has surrounded religion, a growling lion cub.

  20. يهني بني الأنصار أن إمامهم

    قد بلّغته سعودُهُ ما يأملُ

    It congratulates the Helpers that their imam

    Has attained through your good fortune what he hopes for.

  21. يهني البنودَ فإنها ستظله

    وجناح جبريل الأمين يظلّلُ

    It congratulates the flags that it will shade them

    With the wing of Gabriel the Trustworthy outstretched.

  22. يهني الجيادَ الصافنات فإنها

    بفتوحه تحت الفوارس تهدلُ

    It congratulates the steeds that beneath the horsemen

    Will prance with pride.

  23. يهني المذاكي والعوالي والظبى

    فيها إلى نيل المنى يتوصّلُ

    It congratulates the swords and lances that through it

    Will attain the desired goal.

  24. يهني المعالي والمفاخر أنّه

    في مرتقى أوج العلا يَتَوَقَّلُ

    It congratulates the lofty titles, as he

    Has reached the utmost pinnacle of glory.

  25. سبقت مقدمةُ الفتوح قدومَهُ

    وأتاك وهو الوادع المتمَهِّلُ

    The vanguards of conquest preceded his arrival,

    While he came at his ease, slowly proceeding.

  26. وبدتْ نجوم السعد قبلَ طلوعه

    تجلو المطامع قبلَه وتُؤثَّلُ

    The stars of fortune appeared before his rise

    To illuminate ambitions beforehand and adorn.

  27. وروتْ أحاديث الفتوح غرائباً

    والنصر يملي والبشائرُ تنقلُ

    The tales of conquest related wondrous news,

    Victory dictating, good tidings being conveyed.

  28. أَلقت إليك به السعودُ زمامَها

    فالسعدُ يُمضي ما تقول ويفعلُ

    Good fortune cast to you its reins,

    So it proceeds as you speak and act.

  29. فالفتحُ بين معجّلٍ ومؤجلٍ

    يُنسيك ماضيَه الذي يستقبلُ

    Between hastened and delayed, victory

    Makes you forget the past and look to the future.

  30. أوليس في شأن المشير دلالةٌ

    أن المقاصدَ من طلابك تكملُ

    Does not the advisor’s manner intimate

    That your aims through your seeking will be realized?

  31. ناداهم داعي الضلال فأقبلوا

    ودعاهم داعي المنون فجُدِّلوا

    He called them when misguidance called, so they came,

    He invited them to death, so they were shrouded.

  32. عَصَوُا الرسول إبايةً وتحكمت

    فيهم سيوفك بعدها فاستمثلوا

    They disobeyed the Messenger defiantly, so

    Your swords thereafter executed them exemplarily.

  33. كانوا جبالاً قد عَلتْ هضباتها

    نسفتهُمُ ريحُ الجلاد فزُلْزلوا

    They were mountains, their plateaus now lofty,

    But the wind of destruction crumbled them.

  34. كانوا بحاراً من حديد زاخر

    أذكتهم نار الوغى فتَسيَّلُوا

    They were seas, gushing with iron,

    But the fire of turmoil melted them down.

  35. ركَبت أرجلها الأداهمَ كلما

    يتحركون إلى قيام تصهلُ

    Your feet rode the mighty steeds whenever

    They stirred to stand, neighing.

  36. كان الحديدُ لباسهم وشعارهم

    واليوم لم تلبسه إلاّ الأرجُلُ

    Iron was their dress and emblem,

    But today, none wear it but the feet.

  37. الله أعطاك التي لا فوقها

    فتحاً به دينُ الهدى يتأثَّلُ

    God granted you the ultimate conquest

    By which the religion of guidance was restored.

  38. جددت للأنصار حَلْيّ جهادها

    فالدين والدنيا به تتجمّلُ

    You renewed the Helpers’ pride in holy war,

    So through it, religion and life are adorned.

  39. من يتحف البيت العتيق وزمزماً

    والوفد وفدُ الله فيه ينزلُ

    You who honor the Ancient House and Zamzam

    As pilgrims, God’s delegation, descend upon it.

  40. متسابقين إلى مثابة رحمةٍ

    من كلّ ما حَدَبٍ إليه تنسلُ

    Racing to attain God’s mercy,

    Coming from every dune, flocking to it,

  41. هيماً كأفواج القطا قد ساقها

    ظمأٌ شديدُ والمطافُ المنهلُ

    Thronging like cattle herds driven by severe thirst,

    Circling the Fountain is their goal.

  42. من كل مرفوع الأكف ضراعةً

    والقلبُ يخفقُ والمدامع تهملُ

    With palms uplifted, imploring,

    Hearts pounding, tears pouring.

  43. حتى إذا روت الحديث مسلسلاً

    بيضُ الصوارم والرماحُ العُسَّلُ

    Until victory's tale in order told

    The swords now gleam, the polished lances glisten.

  44. من فتحك الأسنى عن الجيش الذي

    بثباته أهل الوغى تتمثّلُ

    From your conquest the most sublime, by the army

    That by its steadfastness exemplified the agitators.

  45. أهدتهم السَّرَّاءَ نصرةُ دينهم

    واستبشروا بحديثها وتهللوا

    The good tidings of its support brought them joy,

    And they rejoiced at the news and cried: “God is great!”

  46. وتناقلوا عنك الحديث مسرَّةً

    بسماعه واهتزّ ذاك المحفلُ

    They related the tale from you in delight

    Hearing it, that honoured company trembled.

  47. ودعوّا بنصرك وهو أعظم مفخراً

    أن الحجيج بنصر ملكك يحفلُ

    They prayed for your victory, the proudest glory,

    That the pilgrims exult in the victory of your kingdom.

  48. فاهنأ بملك واعتمد شكراً به

    لطفَ الإله وصنعَه تَتَخَوَّلُ

    So congratulate yourself on a kingdom, thank

    God for his subtle working and his perfect craft.

  49. شرفتَ منه باسم والدك الرضى

    يحيا به منه الكريمُ المفضلُ

    You have been ennobled with the name of your father, approval,

    By which lives the generous one, preferred.

  50. أبديت من حسن الصنيع عجائباً

    تُروي على مرِّ الزمان وتنقلُ

    You have manifested of your favours wonders

    To be recounted for generations to come.

  51. خفقت به أعلامُك الحمرُ التي

    بخفوقها النصر العزيز موكّلُ

    Beneath them waved your red banners

    By whose fluttering, great assured victory is assigned.

  52. هَدَرَتْ طبول العزّ تحت ظلالها

    عنوان فتح إثرها يستعجلُ

    The drums of glory rumbled beneath their shade

    Heralding, by their beat, hastened conquest.

  53. ودعوتَ أشرافَ البلاد وكلهم

    يثني الجميلَ وصُنعُ جودك أجملُ

    You summoned the nobles of the land, all of whom

    Speak well of your kindness, surpassing in its beauty.

  54. وردوا ورود الهيمِ أجهدها الظما

    فَصَفَا لهم من وِردِ كفك منهلُ

    They came in throngs of yearning, parched by thirst,

    And from your palm the sweet water of generosity flowed.

  55. وأثرت فيه للطراد فوارساً

    مثل الشموس وجوهُهم تتهلّلُ

    You assigned to the defenders heroic horsemen

    Like suns, their faces shining.

  56. من كل وضاح الجبين كأنه

    نجم وجنح النقع ليل مسبلُ

    Of luminous countenance like stars, as if

    Each a celestial sphere in a starless night.

  57. يردُ الطرادَ على أغرَّ محجّل

    في سرجه بطلٌ أغرُّ محجِّلُ

    Repelling the aggressor with utmost vigilance,

    A hero on his steed, completely armed.

  58. قد عُوُدوا قنصَ الكماة كأنما

    عقبانها ينقضُ منها أجْدَلُ

    They were addicted to slaying archers, as though

    Swooping down on them like eagles on prey.

  59. يستتبعون هوادجاً موشيَّةٌ

    تنسي عُقول الناظرين وتُذهِلُ

    They pursued darkening clouds,

    Bewildering the onlookers’ minds and dazzling.

  60. وتضمنت جزل الوقود حمولها

    والنصر في التحقيق ما هي تحملُ

    Their capacious ships were laden with provisions,

    While assured victory they surely bore.

  61. والعاديات إذا تلت فرسانها

    آيَ القتال صفوفها تترتلُ

    When their horsemen followed one another,

    The ranks, reciting war texts, proceeded rhythmically.

  62. لله خيلك إنها لَسَوَابح

    بحر القتام وموجُه متهيّلُ

    By God, your steeds are swimmers

    Cleaving the sea of darkness, its waves rippling.

  63. من كل برق بالثريا ملجمٍ

    بالبدر يُسرج والأهلّةِ ينعلُ

    Some grey like the dawn, saddled with Venus,

    The morning flowing over it, kept by fate.

  64. أَوْف بهادِ كالظليم وخلفه

    كفَلٌ كما ماج الكثيب الأهْيلُ

    Some chestnut, freshness spilling from its sides,

    Clothed in the raiment of joyfulness, everlasting.

  65. حتَّى البوارق غير أن جيادَها

    عن سبق خيلك يا مؤيد تنكُلُ

    Some roan like embers, its ferocity concealed

    Flaring on the day of trial into raging flames.

  66. من أشهب كالصبح يعلو سرجَهُ

    صبحٌ به نجم الضلالة يأفلُ

    Some yellow, wearing the night’s black garb,

    Its tail for the night a trailing robe.

  67. أو أدهمٍ كالليل قَّدَ شُهبه

    خاض الصباحَ فأثبتَتُه الأجلُ

    You perfected in this work customs

    Where munificence is total and minute.

  68. أو أشقرٍ سال النُضار بعطفه

    وكساه صبغة بهجةٍ لا تنصلُ

    You created therein of your bounty clouds

    That rise through kindness and are laden with benevolence.

  69. أو أحمرٍ كالجمر أضمر بأسه

    بالركض في يوم الحفيظة يشعلُ

    You made gush from your palms ten seas

    That pour the clouds of generosity, surpassing all.

  70. أو أصفرٍ لبس العشي ملاءةً

    وبذيله لِلَّيل ذيل مسبلُ

    Who compares your palm to a cloud is ignorant of comparison,

    And the like of it cannot be imagined.

  71. أجملت في هذا الصنيع عوائداً

    الجود فيها مجمل ومفصّلُ

    The cloud is stingy while its face is scowling,

    But the face, with dew, is cheerful and smiling.

  72. أنشأت فيها من نداك غمائماً

    بالفضل تنشأ والسماحة تهمِلُ

    The clouds give water generously, its munificence

    Gold that enriches those seeking wealth.

  73. فجّرتَ من كفّيكِ عشرة أبحر

    تزجي سحاب الجود وهي الأنمُلُ

    Who compares it to the brilliant sun is,

    In my view, mistaken in his judgement.

  74. من قاس كفك بالغمام فإنه

    جهل القياس ومثلها لا يجهلُ

    Whence for the brilliant sun eloquence

    By which the finest speech is adorned?

  75. تسخو الغمام ووجهها متجهم

    والوجه منه مع الندى يتهلّلُ

    Who compares your perfection to the brilliant moon

    Comes short, while the Caliph is perfected.

  76. والسحب تسمح بالمياه وجودُهُ

    ذهبٌ به هلُ الغنى تتموّلُ

    Whence for the brilliant moon features

    Traversed by the south and north wind?

  77. من قاسَ بالشمس المنيرة وجههه

    ألفَيْته في حكمه لا يعدلُ

    Whence for the brilliant moon achievements

    With which the respected mount is adorned?

  78. من أين للشمس المنيرة منطق

    ببيانه دُرُّ الكلام يُفصّلُ

    O you whose breath of praise fragrance diffuse

    When it wafts, musk and mandil perfume.

  79. من قاس بالبدر المنير كمالَه

    فالبد ينقص والخليفةُ يكمُلُ

    O you whose charms of face, when glimpsed,

    Bring joy to the eye and rapture to the beholder.

  80. من أين للبدر المنير شمائلٌ

    تسري بريّاها الصِّبا والشَّمالُ

    O you whose people’s glories, when recited,

    Are verses sent down from on high.

  81. من أين للبدر المنير مناقبٌ

    بجهادها تُنضى المطيُّ الذُلَّلُ

    The Caliphate from you, O King of the Most High, gains

    Custody, and God, Most Exalted, for you has more.

  82. يا من إذا نفحت نواسمُ حمده

    فالمسك يعبق طيبُه والمندلُ

    Secure, trusted, rightly guided,

    Victorious, guided aright, reliant.

  83. يا من إذا لُمحت محاسنُ وجهه

    تعشو العيون ويُبهر المتأملُ

    It suffices the Caliphate to have you as regent

    And protector from all who scheme and plot.

  84. يا من إذا تُليت مفاخر قومه

    آيُ الكتاب بذكرها تتنزّلُ

    It suffices time to have you as imam,

    In whom then is glory everlasting.

  85. كفل الخلافة منك يا ملك العلا

    واللهُ جلاَّ جلالهُ لكَ أكفلُ

    It suffices kings to have you as pillar,

    Seeking your pleasure dew, hoping, aspiring.

  86. مأمونُها وأمينُها ورشيدها

    منصورها مهديُّها المتوكّلُ

    It suffices the lofty titles to have you as imam,

    Upon whom the finest glories cascade.

  87. حسبُ الخلافة أن تكون وَليَّها

    ومجيرَها من كل من يتحيَّلُ

    O God’s conclusive proof, by which

    The right prevails and falsehood lowly lies!

  88. حسبُ الزمان بأن تكون إمامَهَ

    فله بذلك عزة لا تُهملُ

    You are the imam, son of an imam, son of an imam, son of an imam,

    And its pride unmatched.

  89. حسبُ الملوك بأن تكون عميدَها

    ترجو الندى من راحتيك وتأملُ

    You taught until no ignorant remained,

    You gave until none asking remained.

  90. حسب المعالي أن تكون إمامها

    فعليك أطناب المفاخر تُسدلُ

    God's grace does encompass you,

    Grasping a tie that cannot be unbound.

  91. يا حجة الله التي برهانها

    عزَّ المحقُّ به وذَلَّ المبطلُ

  92. أنت الإمام ابنُ الإمام ابنِ الإما

    م ابنِ الإمام وفخرها لا يُعدَلُ

  93. علّمت حتّى لم تدعْ من جاهل

    أَعطيت حتى لم تدعْ من يسألُ

  94. وعنايةُ الله اشتملت رداءها

    وعلقت منها عروةً لا تُفْصَلُ
