  1. اسقني بنت الدوالي

    إنها نعم الدوالي

    Give me a drink, daughter of the buckets,

    For they are good buckets,

  2. سقّني سر الفلاني

    ولا تنس ذك فلانا

    Give me the secret of so-and-so,

    And do not forget to mention so-and-so,

  3. إن جسمي وجناني

    للملاح عند أمانا

    For my body and my soul,

    Are safe with the sailor,

  4. بالعشيّ لو تراني

    حن نصرّف خنزوانا

    If you could see me in the evening,

    As we turn the jugs around,

  5. والبدور دارت حوالي

    من وجوه حسان عوالي

    And the houses revolved around,

    With beautiful, noble faces,

  6. لو يذوق من ذا الشريبا

    الخطيب توريه معان

    If he tastes this drink,

    The preacher will show him meanings,

  7. ويقول على الطريبا

    دن دنان دن دنان

    And say about the good drink,

    Din dan din dan,

  8. أوفني وحد البسيبا

    من رضاب بنت الدنان

    Satisfy me with some raisins,

    From the consent of the daughter of so-and-so,

  9. ذب نبيع جديد وبالي

    وننال أشما في بالي

    We sell new and affliction,

    And get scents in my mind,

  10. من ذي يفزع الكويتب

    عد يفرح في ثياب

    Who makes the poet anxious,

    After he rejoices in clothes,

  11. وش يقوم به الرويتب

    عن تمالح لشراب

    And what does the poet do,

    About the desire for drink,

  12. ويجد روح معيتب

    حين يطول عنّه غياب

    And finds a soulmate,

    When his absence is prolonged,

  13. وش يزول للكاس موالي

    إن شوب سر الموالي

    And what fades for the cup of wine,

    If the secret of intimacy fades,

  14. القضيب بعطف مبلول

    تسكروا كؤوس الأزهار

    The rod is with a wet robe,

    They got drunk on cups of flowers,

  15. والغدير بدرع مصقول

    يلتقف سيوف الأنهار

    And the stream in a polished armor,

    Takes the swords of the rivers,

  16. وشم يعمل حب محمول

    وأنا نطلب ل الأعذار

    What does intended love do?

    And I ask for excuses,

  17. من عشق بدر المعالي

    إش يزول بشوف عالي

    For loving the full moon of glories,

    What disappears with seeing it high,

  18. يا مليح يكفاك من التيه

    ما طلبت غر كتيّب

    Oh beautiful, enough of your misguidance,

    Everyday you say to me, eh eh,

  19. كل يوم تقل لي إيه إيه

    وبقت مسكن مريّب

    And my dwelling became uneasy,

    May God raise your hand,

  20. خط يدّك اللّه يعلّيه

    للهنا يفتح بويّب

    To open his door,

    You remained full of perfection,

  21. دمت بدرا في كمال

    ساحبا برد الجمال

    Taking the cold of beauty.
