1. أرقتُ لبرق مثل جفنيَ ساهراً

    ينظِّم من قطر الغمام جواهرا

    I stayed up all night like my eyelids

    As lightning was stringing pearls from the clouds

  2. فيبسم ثغرُ الرَّوض عنه أزَاهرا

    وصبحٍ حكى وجه الخليفة باهرا

    Then the garden’s smile revealed its flowers

    And the morning related the radiant face of the caliph

  3. تجسّم من نور الهدى وتجسّدا

    شفانيَ معتلُّ النسيم إذا انبرى

    He embodied the light of guidance and took form

    The gentle breeze revived me when it blew

  4. وأسند عن دمعي الحديث الذي جرى

    وقد فتَقَ الأرجاءَ مسكاً وعنبرا

    And drew out the tears and their flowing tale

    Filling the corners with musk and ambergris

  5. كأنَّ الغني بالله في الروض قد سرى

    فهَبَّتْ به الأرواح عاطرة الرَّدا

    As if the rich with God strolled in the garden

    So the spirits carried him with their fragrance

  6. عذيريَ من قلبِ إلى الحسن قد صبا

    تُهّيجُهُ الذكرى ويصبو إلى الصّبا

    My heart's secret flowed to the beauty

    Stirred by memories and yearning for youth

  7. ويُجري جيادَ اللهو في ملعب الصَّبا

    ولولا ابن نصرٍ ما أفاق وأعتبا

    Galloping the steeds of play in the field of youth

    Were it not for the son of Nasr, he would not have awakened or regretted

  8. رأى وجههُ صبح الهداية فاهتدى

    إليك أمير المسلمين شكايةٌ

    He saw the face of the morning of guidance so he was guided

    To you, O Prince of the Faithful, is my complaint

  9. جنى الحسنُ فيها للقلوب جنايةُ

    وأعظم فيها بالعيون نكايةً

    Al-Hassan therein committed a crime against hearts

    And was extremely cruel to eyes

  10. وأطلع في ليل من الشَّعر آيةُ

    محيَّاً جميلاً بالصَّباح قد ارتدى

    And in the night revealed a sign in poetry

    Adorned beautifully by the morning

  11. بهديك تُهدى النيرات وتهتدي

    وأنوارُها جدوى يمينك تجتدي

    Guided by your light the rivers and stars are guided

    Its beams grasp the hem of your right hand

  12. وعدلك لأملاك أوضح مرشد

    بآثاره في مشكل الأمر تقتدي

    Your justice in the realm of command is the clearest guide

    Its traces in perplexing matters are emulated

  13. فما بال سلطان الجمال قد اعتدى

    تحكم منا في نفوسٍ ضعيفةِ

    So why has the sultan of beauty transgressed

    And unsheathed swords against frail souls

  14. وسلَّ سيوفاً من جفونٍ نحيفة

    ألمْ يدر أَنَّا في ظلال خليفةِ

    And weak eyelids? Does he not know

    We are in the shade of the caliph

  15. ودولةِ أمن لا تُراع منيفةِ

    بها قد رسَا دِينُ الهوى وتمهَّدَا

    And a secure state that fears no complaint?

    The religion of passion settled and spread in it

  16. خذوا بدم المشتاق لحظاً أراقَهُ

    وبرقاً بأعلام الثنية شاقَهُ

    Take the blood of the ardent lover for a moment he spilt it

    And the lightning that ripped the banners of the valley

  17. وإن كلفوه فوق ما قد أطاقَهُ

    يُبثُّ حديثاً ما ألذَّ مساقَهُ

    And if they tasked him beyond his capacity

    He would relate a most delicious tale

  18. خليفتنا المولى الإمامَ محمّدا

    تقلَّد حكم العدل ديناً ومذهبا

    My caliph, the protected Imam Muhammad

    Assumed the just rule as creed and doctrine

  19. وجَوْرَ الليالي قد أزاح وأذهبا

    فيا عجباً للشوق أذكى وألهبا

    And removed the injustice of nights and erased them

    So strange is the passion he kindled and inflamed

  20. وسلَّ صباحاً صارم البرق مُذْهبا

    وقد بات في جفن الغمامة مُغمدا

    And unleashed a piercingly bright morning

    He was armed, resting in the cloud's eyelid

  21. يذكّرني ثغراً لأسماء أشنبَا

    إذا ابتسمت تجلو من الليل غَيهبا

    Reminding me of lips to Asma when she smiles

    Her smile reveals the darkness like the dawn

  22. كَعزْم أمير المسلمين إذا اجتبى

    وأجرى به طِرفاً من الصبح أشهبا

    Like the resolve of the Prince of the Faithful when it comes to him

    And he glimpses the dawn, radiant and gray

  23. وأصدر في ذات الإله وأوردا

    فسبحان من أجرى الرياح بنصرِهِ

    Commanding in God’s essence and entering

    So glory to He who sent the winds in His victory

  24. وعطَّر أنفاسَ الرياض بشكرهِ

    فبرد الصِّبا يُطوى على طيب نَشرهِ

    And filled the meadow’s breeze with His gratitude

    So the coolness of morning is folded over its fragrance

  25. ومهما تجلّى وجهُهُ وسط قصرِه

    ترى هالةٌ بدرُ السماء بها بدا

    And however His face appears midst His palace

    You see a halo, a full moon having appeared

  26. إمامٌ أفادَ المعلُواتِ زمانَهُ

    فما لحقت زُهْرُ النجوم مكانَهُ

    A leader who benefitted his time with knowledge

    Thus the blossoms of stars cannot reach his position

  27. ومدَّ على شرقٍ وغربٍ أمانَهُ

    ولا عيب فيه غير أن بنانَهُ

    And extended his protection to east and west

    He has no flaw but that his fleecing his petitioner in the seas of favor

  28. تُغرِّقُ مُستجديه في أبحر الندى

    هو البحرُ مدَّ العارضَ المتهلِّلاَ

    He is the sea, its expanse ever undulating

    He is the full moon but forever replenished

  29. هو البدر لكن لا يزال مُكمَّلا

    هو الدهر لا يخشى الخطوب ولا ولا

    He is fate, fearing no adversities or calamities

    He is the lofty banner fluttering on the summit of ascension

  30. هو العَلمُ الخفّاق في هضبة العُلا

    هو الصّارم المشهور في نصرة الهدى

    He is the famed sword in supporting the creed

    By He who granted existence its existence

  31. أما والذي أعطى الوجودّ وجَودَهُ

    وأوسع من فوق البسيطة جودَهُ

    And expanded His bounty over the earth

    Surely He paired glorious victory with His patronage

  32. لقد أصحب النصرَ العزيزَ بنودَهُ

    ومدَّ بأملاك السماء جنودَهُ

    And stretched His celestial soldiers over His realms

    And fulfilled for Islam, victory in His promise

  33. وأنجز للإسلام بالنصر موعدا

    أَمَوْلاي قد أَنْجحَتَ رأياً ورايةً

    My Prince, you have succeeded in judgment and leadership

    And left no pinnacle to be scaled in noble deeds

  34. ولم تُبْقِ في سبق المكارم غايَةً

    فتهدي سجايا كابن رشد نهايةً

    Thus you guide the disorders of Ibn Rushd to a conclusion

    And if this felicity from you is the beginning

  35. وإن كان هذا السعدُ منك بدايةً

    سيبقى على مر الزمان مخلَّدا

    It will remain immortalized over time

    Your good fortune makes you needless of recruiting troops

  36. سعودك تُغني عن قراع الكتائبِ

    وجودك يُزري بالغمام السواكبِ

    Your existence rivals the stars of heaven

    And your face amidst processions and retinues

  37. وإن زاحمتها شهبها بالمناكب

    ووجهك بدر المنتدى والمواكبِ

    Is the full moon, your sons expanding the horizon of pride

    Your sons like fingers, assembled

  38. وقد فَسَحَتْ في الفخر أبناؤك المدى

    بنوك كأمثال الأنامل عِدَّةً

    For anticipated adversities of fate

    In your shade their term is prolonged

  39. أُعِدَّتْ لما يخشى من الدهر عُدةً

    وزيد بهم بُرْدُ الخلافة جدَّةً

    God prolong your life forevermore

    They are full moons in traits of perfection that arose

  40. أطالَ لهم في ظل ملكك مُدَّةً

    إلهٌ يُطيل العمر منك مؤبدَا

    Clouds bursting with bestowal that poured forth

    Swords unsheathed against enemies in victory

  41. بدروٌ بأوصاف الكمال استقلَّتِ

    غمامٌ بفيّاض النوال استهلَّتِ

    Stars twinkling in the horizons of ascension

    Islam rejoices in their absence and presence

  42. سيوفٌ على الأعداء بالنصر سُلَّتِ

    نجومٌ بآفاق العلاء تجلَّتِ

    With the appointment of your heir, his rule was honored

    And in immortalizing your realm his promise was fulfilled

  43. ولاحت كما شاءت سعودُكَ أَسْعُدا

    وإن أبا الحجاج سيفُك مُنْتَضى

    Their band under your umbrella was organized

    And he bequeathed to them the pride of their father and grandfather

  44. وبدرٌ بآفاق الجمال تعَرَّضا

    بنورك يا شمسَ الخلافة قد أضا

    He exalted Ali when Ahmad was praised

    And your son Nasr follows his example

  45. ورَاقت على أعطافه حُلل الرضا

    فحلَّ محلاًّ من عُلاك ممهَّدا

    A prince of sound mind and vast knowledge

    Came to you with a son illuminated by his star

  46. مليك له تعنو الملوكُ جلالةً

    يُجرِّرُ أذيال الفخار مُطالةً

    Named for the love of the Messenger of God for his namesake

    And for your name in this concurrence he emulated

  47. وتفْرَقُ أسدُ الغاب منه بسالةً

    وترضاه نصَار الرسول سُلالةً

    You established the excuse of inability this year

    And adorned it with the necklace of your pride

  48. فأبناؤه طابوا فروعاً ومحتدا

    أزاهر في روض الخلافة أينعَتْ

    Settling it in the shade of your righteousness a paradise

    Shielding it with your coat of gratitude a breastplate

  49. زواهرُ في أفق العلاء تطلّعَتْ

    جواهرُ أغيتْ في الجمال وأبدعتْ

    And erected thereby a mosque for Quran recitation

    Their eyes look upon them in reverence

  50. وعن قيمة الأعلاق قدراً ترفَعَتْ

    يسرُّ بها الإسلام غيباً ومشهدا

    Saplings nourished in your garden of generosity

    And branched in the grove of ascetics from you

  51. بعهدِ وليِّ العهد كُرِّمَ عهدُهُ

    وأنجز في تخليد ملكك وعْدُهُ

    Kings cloaked in the mantle of propriety

    They adorned beautiful patience in themselves

  52. تنظَّمَ منهم تحت شملك عِقدُهُ

    وأورثهم فخراً أبوهُ وجَدُّهُ

    Smiling cheerfully amidst it at their friends

    They expressed the horrors of the ordeal with stoicism

  53. فأعلى علياً حين أحمدَ أحمدا

    ونجلُك نصرٌ يقتفي نجل رسمِه

    Their traits from their father and grandfather

    Detailing verses of pride through their praise

  54. أمير يزينُ العقلَ راجحُ حِلْمِهِ

    أتاك بنجلٍ يُستضاءُ بنجمِهِ

    The Helpers trace it back to the precedence of their Sa'd

    Illuminating thereby a lamp for the lamps of their Sa'd

  55. لحب رسول الله سَمَاهُ باسمِهِ

    وباسمكَ في هذي الموافقة اقتدى

    Why not when they accompanied the Messenger in his sacrifice

    O by He who granted existence its existence

  56. أقمتَ بإعذار الإمارة سنةً

    وطوَّقت من حلي بفخرك مِنّةً

    And expanded the breadth of His bounty

    Surely He accompanied glorious victory in His patronage

  57. وأسكنتها في ظل بِرِّك جَنَّةً

    وألحفتَها بُردَ امتنانك جُنَّةً

    And stretched over His heavens soldiers

    And fulfilled for Islam, victory in His promise

  58. وعَمّرْتَ منها بالتلاوة مسجدا

    فلله عيناً من رآهم تطلَّعُوا

    My Prince, you have succeeded in opinion and leadership

    Leaving no ultimate limit to virtues

  59. غصُوناً بروض الجود فيك ترعرعُوا

    وفي دوحة العلياء منك تفرعُوا

    Guiding thereby the disorders of Ibn Rushd conclusively

    And if this good fortune from you is the beginning

  60. ملوكٌ بجلبابِ الحياء تقنعُوا

    أضاء بهم من أفق قصرك منتدى

    It will remain immortalized over time

    You have adorned these charitable deeds

  61. وقد أشعروا الصبر الجميلَ نفوسَهُمْ

    وأضْفَوُا به فوق الحلي لبوسَهُمْ

    The cycles of eras wished for their rising

    Displaying through them marvels of beauty

  62. وقد زيّنوا بالبِشر فيه شموسَهُمْ

    وعاطَوْا كؤوس الأُنس فيه جليسَهُمْ

    Channeling thereby the most virtuous of beneficence

    The stream of the Nile wishes it as its course

  63. وأبْدَوْا على هوْل المقام تجلُّدا

    شمائلُ فيهم من أبيهم وَجَدِّهِمْ

    You have let loose therein horses, and they are the swiftest

    Pursuing frightened game, they are the boldest

  64. تُفَصَّلُ آيُ الفخر فيها بحمدِهِمْ

    وتنسبها الأنصار قدماً لسعدِهِمْ

    Stars, with horizons the Pleiades rise from

    Their gaze cannot keep pace, so quickly they bolt

  65. تضيءُ بها نوراً مصابيح سعدِهِمْ

    ولمْ لا ومن صحب الرسول توقّدا

    When racing shooting stars they outstrip the range

    Rising in the darkness of night like planets

  66. فوالله لولا سنةٌ قد أقَمتَها

    وسيرة هديٍ للنّبِيّ علمتَها

    Arriving at the river of day for watering

    Leading thereby to enemies like comets

  67. وأحكامُ عدل لجنود رسمتها

    لجالتْ بها الأبطال تقصد سمتَها

    Etching thereby from atop the soil a battleground

    Where the heads of Romans bow down in prostration

  68. وتترك أوصال الوشيج مُقصَّدا

    ويا عاذراً أبدى لنا الشرعُ عُذْرَهُ

    Coursing with the mighty victory, gliding

    They are the gates to conquests, heralding

  69. طرقت حمى قد عظم الله قدرَهُ

    وأجريت طيباً يحسد الطيبُ نشرَهُ

    They bring you victory, and God is its granter

    You remain the door of good, and God its opener

  70. لقد جئت ما تستعظم الصيدُ أمرَهُ

    وتفديه إن يقبلْ خليفتها فدا

    Nothing concludes after initiating but You

    Winds whose lightning is like their neighing

  71. رعى الله منها دعوة مستجابةً

    أفادت نفوسَ المخلصين إنابةً

    Gazelles, though night may cloak, they are cunning

    A cloud from the perfect full moon shades them

  72. ولم تُلفِ من دون القبول حجابةً

    وعاذرها لم يُبدِ عذراً مهابةً

    And a sword from the hand of the ardent shields them

    They pelt the evildoer with stones from their mouths

  73. فأوجب عن نقص كمالاً تزيّدا

    فنقص كمال المال وفرُ نصابِهِ

    If from the honorable they are descended, when associated

    It flows, overriding the stars in the sky

  74. وما السيف إلا بعد مشق ذبابِهِ

    وما الزهر إلا بعد شق إهابهِ

    Leaving thereby the studded heavens some stars

    Displaying thereby to the dawn some beauty—and sometimes

  75. بقطع يراع الخط حُسْنُ كتابِهِ

    وبالقص يزدادُ الذُبالُ توقدَا

    The dawn would say to it, my soul is your redemption!

    Bay ignited the embers of war

  76. ولَمَّا قَضَوْا من سنّة الشَّرع واجبا

    ولم نلق من دون الخلافة حاجبا

    And seized the redness from ruby and rose a redness

    Circulating thereby a draft of war like wine

  77. أفضنا نهني منك جذلان واهبا

    أفاض علينا أنعُماً ومواهبا

    Revealing thereby above it beauty’s prime and blush

    Increasing thereby a naturally rosy cheek its crimson

  78. تعوّد بذل الجود فيما تَعَوَّدا

    هنيئاً هنيئاً قد بلغت مؤمَّلاً

    Blond, no matter how the galloping radiated its light

    Lent the courser of lightning in the horizon its lead

  79. وأطلعت نوراً يبهر المتأمْلا

    وأحرزت أجر المنعمين مكمَّلا

    Dawned like the horizon, beauty crowning its horizon

    Do you not see that God originated its creation

  80. تبارك من أعطى جزيلاً وأجملا

    وبلّغ فيك الدينّ والملك مقصدا

    So beauty cascaded over its shoulders submission

    Sorrel, the steed wishing for its beauty

  81. ألا في سبيل العز والفخر موسِمُ

    يظل به ثغر المسرّة يبسِمُ

    As the coolness of dusk paraded its majesty

    When they saddled the wings of night its cover

  82. وعَرفُ الرضى من جوه يتنسَّمُ

    وأرزاق أرباب السعادة تقسمُ

    Its prime is the sun that illuminates its scope

    With darkness’s train trailing behind it

  83. ففي وصه ذهن الذكي تبلّدا

    وجلَّلت في هذا الصنيع مصانعا

    Gray, serious with the cloak of gloom

    Stirring therewith a sea of darkness, frothing

  84. تمنّى بدورُ التِّمِّ منهم مطالعا

    وأبديت فيها للجمال بدائعا

    Its prime a star by which it smolders

    The full moon is its saddle and the stars its stud

  85. وأجريتَ للإحسان فيها مشارعا

    يودُّ بها نهرُ المجرّةِ موردا

    Splitting thereby the certain dawn bound

    White like parchment its morning shone

  86. وأجريت فيها الخيل وهي سوابقُ

    وإن طَلَبَتْ في الرَّوْع فهي لواحقُ

    Upon beauty its manger and therein its ease

    And for the does, gentle, its comfort

  87. نجومٌ وآفاق الطراد مشارقُ

    يفوتُ المتاحَ الطرف منها بوارقُ

    You see it like a bow the wind inclined

    Lost to the eye in the expanse of sky

  88. إذا ما تُجاري الشّهبَ تستبق المدى

    وتطلعُ في ليل القتام كواكبا

    The clouds enwrapped it in the cold of its reins

    The glance cannot keep pace with its sudden appearing

  89. وقد وردت نهرَ النهار مشاربا

    تقودُ إلى الأعداءِ منها كواكبا

    The rain wet its moist branch

    As if it revolved in the horizon a planet

  90. فترسم من فوق التراب محاربا

    تحورُ رؤوسُ الروم فيهنَّ سجُدا

    However it walks and astounds the mind in wonder

    You repeatedly discern it with a glancing gaze

  91. سوابحُ بالنصر العزيز سوانحُ

    وهُنَّ لأبواب الفتوح فواتحُ

    It intended to stealthily climb to the sky on a ladder

    Walking thereby in the air, a miracle

  92. تقود إليك النصرَ والله مانحُ

    فما زلت بابَ الخير والله فاتح

    Looking from the bough of the Pleiades like a skullcap

    You think it a cloud beneath the clouds a small cloud

  93. وما تم شيء قد عدا بعدما بدا

    رياحٌ لها مثنى البروق أَعنّةٌ

    Flowing over its shoulders the dew of brilliance

    It fell and leveled in a condition and tossed

  94. ظِباءٌ فإن جَنَّ الظلام فجِنَّةٌ

    تقيها من البدر المتمَّم جُنَّةٌ

    Like a bolt of lightning that gleamed its polish

    You would think it revolved in the horizon a celestial body

  95. وتُشرع من زُهر النجوم أسِنَةٌ

    فتقذف شهبَ الرَّجم في أثغر العدا

    However it walks and captivates the mind in marvel

    It makes the eye vacillate observing it a lingering glance

  96. فأشهبُ من نسل الوجيه إذا انتمى

    جرى فشأى شُهبَ الكواكب في السّما

    It intended to ascend to the heavens by a ladder

    Walking thereby the line of the unseen, fancying

  97. وخلّف منها في المقلَّد أنجما

    تردَّى جمالاً بالصباح ورُبمَّا

    Look to what the mind discloses in thought, discerning

    You see a bird that took the form of a human

  98. يقول له الإصباح نفس لك الفدا

    وأحمرُ قد أذكى به البأسُ جمرةً

    Hiding thereby in the expanse of space, rebellious

    Attributed to a birthmark, though its rising was muzzled

  99. وقد سلب الياقوت والوردّ حمرةً

    أدار به ساقٍ من الحرب خمرةً

    Its judgments, their rule was silenced dumb

    Unlike its parents if it claims relation

  100. وأبدى حباباً فوقها الحسن غُرَّةً

    يزيد بها خداً أسيلاً مورّدا

    As its kind also differs from them

    I am astonished by it though it was not born engendered

  101. وأشقرُ مهما شعشع الركضُ برقَهُ

    أعار جوادَ البرق في الأفق سبقَهُ

    The three of them in mention came explained

    God named it for us adornment

  102. بدا شفقاً قد جلّل الحسنُ أفقَهُ

    ألمْ تَرَ أن الله أبدع خلقَهُ

    And revealed about it a clear verse

    Depositing thereby for the ignorant serenity

  103. فسال على أعطافه الحسنُ عسجدا

    وأصفرُ قد ودَّ الأصيلُ جمالَهُ

    His blessings therein upon people He scattered

    He clothed it in Yemeni muslin, a bridal cloak

  104. وقد قدَّ من بُرد العشيّ جِلالَهُ

    إذا أسرجوا جِنحَ الظلام ذبالَهُ

    The shade overflowing above it, unfolded

    So many figures appeared therein, vexing the darkness

  105. فَغُرَّتُهُ شمسُ تضيء مجالَهُ

    وفي ذيله ذيلُ الظلام قد ارتدى

    Agitating thereby the fire of hatred, kindling the darkness

    And an envious heart, enraged, its flames fueling

  106. وأدهمُ في مسح الدُّجى متجردُ

    يجيشُ بها بحرٌ من الليل مُزبدُ

    It is but the manifestation of His struggle

    He showed us thereby joys, the merit of His striving

  107. وغُرَّتُه نَجمٌ به تتوقَّدُ

    له البدرُ سرجٌ والنجوم مُقَلَّدُ

    Its playgrounds shook the hills of glory

    And reminded the heroes of the day of pursuit

  108. وفي فلق الصبح المبين تقيَّدا

    وأبيضُ كالقرطاس لاح صباحُهُ

    So You did not waver therein today, confirming it tomorrow

    Verily, the Merciful renewed a wondrous creation

  109. على الحسن مغداه وفيه مراحُهُ

    وللظّبَياتِ الآنساتِ مِراحُهُ

    The grove of wishes bloomed in its atoms

    With a palace beyond description You summarized it

  110. تراه كنشوانٍ أمالَتْهُ راحُهُ

    وتحسبهُ وسطَ الجمال مُعربدا

    Captivating sight however You show it

    Good fortune in it, You imposed on the onlooker captivity

  111. وذاهبةٌ في الجَوْ مِلْءَ عِنانِها

    وقد لَفَعَتْها السُّحبُ بُرد عَنانِها

    You summoned the nobility from every town

    They came with hopes therein novel

  112. يفوت ارتداءَ الطَّرف لمح عِيانِها

    وخَتَّمت الجوزاءُ سبط بنانِها

    Endowed with favors already prepared

    Hands drawing fully from Your favor

  113. وصاغت لها حَلْيَ النجوم مقيّدا

    أَراها عمودُ الصبح عُلْوَ المصاعدِ

    Each therefore provided by Your bounty that which sufficed

    And there came to You of the Prophet’s family a band

  114. وأوهمها قربَ المدى المتباعدِ

    ففاتته سبقاً في جال الرواعد

    Skilled in the aims of noble deeds

    Who loved You, no doubt therein

  115. وأتحفتِ الكفَّ الخضيب بساعِدِ

    فطوّقتِ الزُّهرَ النجومَ بها يدا

    Embracing the causes of success in responding from it

    The specialization called them, so they rushed to generosity

  116. وقد قذفتها للعصيّ حواصبُ

    قد انتشرت في الجوِّ منها ذوائبُ

    They crossed the sea though the sea surges

    To the sea of generosity, its extent unwaning

  117. تزاوَرُ منها في الفضاء حبائبُ

    فبينهما من قبل ذاك مناسبُ

    They fully enjoyed the sweet stream of Your kindness

    While You made some of Your blessings immeasurable

  118. لأَنهما في الروض قبلُ توَلّدا

    بناتٌ لأم قد حَبينَ لرَوْحها

    And revered them, seeking the Prophet Muhammad

    Upon him the prayers and peace of God

  119. دعاها الهوى من بعد كتم لبَوْحِها

    فأقلامُها تهوي لخطِّ بلَوْحِها

    With it the order of this system is sealed

    With God’s praise it came, sweetly spoken

  120. فبالأمس كانت بعض أغصان دَوْحِها

    فعادت إليها اليومَ من بعدُ عُودِّا

    Its purpose eludes the eloquent

    Flowers of stars bow to it each morning

  121. ويا رُبَّ حصن في ذراها قد اعتلى

    أنارتْ برُوجُ الأفق في مظهر العلا

    I send therewith the messenger of the caravan radiant

    Talk of struggle rousing souls

  122. بروجَ قصور شِدْتَها متطوّلا

    فأنشأت برجاً صاعداً متنزَّلا

    I aimed thereby, ascending from Iraq

    Sending the most eloquent ornamented

  123. يكون رسولاً بينها متردِّدا

    وهل هي إِلاّ هالةٌ حولَ بدرِها

    A dove soaring the praise, singing

    I raced the steeds of rhetoric to the furthest range

  124. يصوغُ لها حلياً يليق بنحرِها

    تطوّر أنواعاً تشيد بفخرِها

    Achieving thereby precedence in the track of guidance

    Composing thereby pearls of poetry, studded

  125. فحِجْل برجليها وشاحُ بخصْرِها

    وتاجٌ بأعلى رأسها قد تنضّدا

    Encircling thereby the neck of pride, a threaded necklace

    Standing thereby between the ranks, a chanter

  126. أراد استراقَ السّمع وهو ممنَّعُ

    فقامَ بأذيال الدُّجى يتلفَّعُ

    I composed therein generous gems

    Sending thereby the scout of beauties to the garden

  127. وأصغى لأخبار السّما يتسمّعُ

    فأتبعَه منها ذوابل شرَّعُ

    Adorning thereby the shoulder of the kingdom therewith, necklaces

    Accustomed thereby to acceptance, habitual

  128. لتقذفه بالرعب مثنى ومَوْحَدا

    وما هو إلاَّ قائمٌ مدَّ كفَّهُ

    Never ceasing in it to the beautiful deed, devoted

    Never ceasing in it to the beautiful work, renewing

  129. ليسأَلَ من ربِّ السَّموات لُطفَهُ

    لمولَى تولاّه وأحكم رصفَهُ

    Never ceasing to the greatest pride, immortalizing

    You are given an age that is ever replenished

  130. وكلّف أربا البلاغة وصفهْ

    وأكرم منه القانت المتهجِّدا

    You are immortalized with sons all equanimous

    The riding camels are sated however long the journey

  131. ملاقي ركب من وفود النواسمِ

    مقبّلَ ثغر للبروق البواسم

  132. مختِّمَ كفٌّ بالنجوم العوائمِ

    مُبلِّغَ قصد من حضور المواسمِ

  133. تجدده مهما صنيع تجدَّدا

    ومضطربٌ في الجو أثبت قامةً

  134. تقدمٍ يمشي في الهواء كرامَةً

    تطلَّع في غصن الرشاء كمامةً

  135. وتحسبه تحت الغمام غمامةً

    يسيل على أعطافها عَرَقُ الندى

  136. هوى واستوى في حالة وتقلّبَا

    كخاطف برق قد تألَق خُلَّبَا

  137. وتحسبه قد دار في الأفق كوكبَا

    ومهما مشى واستوقف العقل معجبا

  138. تُقَلِّب فيه العين لحظاً مردْدا

    لقد رام يرقى للسماء بسلَّم

  139. فيمشي على خطَّ به متوهِّم

    أجِلْ في الذي يُبديه فكر توسُّمِ

  140. ترى طائراً قد حلّ صورة آدمِي

    وجنَّا بمهواة الفضاء تمرَّدا

  141. ومنتسب للخال سمُّوْه مُلْجَما

    له حَكَماتٌ حكمُها فاه أَلْجما

  142. تخالَفَ جنساً والداه إذا انتمى

    كما جنسُهُ أيضاً تخالف عنهما

  143. عجبت له إذ لم يلدَّ تولّدا

    ثلاثتها في الذكر جاءت مُبينةً

  144. من اللاء سَمَاها لنا اللهُ زينةً

    وأنزل فيها آية مستبينةً

  145. وأودع فيها للجهول سكينةً

    وآلاءهُ فيها على الخلق بدَّدا

  146. كسوْه من الوشي اليماني هودجا

    يمدُّ على ما فوقَه الظلَّ سَجْسَجَا

  147. وكم صورةٍ تجلى به تهر الحجى

    وجزل وقود ناره تصدع الدجى

  148. وقلب حسودٍ غاظ مذكيه موقدا

    وما هي لا مظهر لجهادِهِ

  149. أَرَتْنا بِها الأفراح فضل اجتهادهِ

    ملاعبها هزَّت قدود صعادِهِ

  150. وأذكرت الأبطال يوم طرادِهِ

    فما ارتَبْتَ فيه اليومَ صدَّقتَهُ غدا

  151. أَلاَ جدَّدَ الرحمن صنعاً حضرتَهُ

    ودوحَ الأماني في ذراه هصرتَهُ

  152. بقصرٍ طويلُ الوصف فيه اختصرتَهُ

    يقيّدُ طِرفَ الطَّرف مهما نظرتَهُ

  153. ومن وجد الإحسان قيداً تقيّدا

    دعوتَ له الأشراف من كل بلدةٍ

  154. فجاءوا بآمالٍ لهم مستجدّةِ

    وخصّوا بألطافٍ لديه معدّةِ

  155. أيادٍ بفيّاض الندى مستمدّةِ

    فكلُّهُمُ من فضله قد تزوَّدَا

  156. وجاءتك من آل النَّبِيّ عصابةٌ

    لها في مرامي المكرمات إصابةٌ

  157. أحبتك حباً ليس فيه استرابةٌ

    ولبَت دواعي الفوز منها إجابةٌ

  158. وناداهُمُ التخصيص فابتدروا النّدا

    أجازوا إليك البحر والبحرُ يزخَرُ

  159. لبحر سماح مَدُّهُ ليس يجزرُ

    فروّاهُمُ من عذب جودك كوثرُ

  160. ووالَيْتَ من نُعماك ما ليس يُحْصَرُ

    وعظّمتَهم ترجو النَّبيَّ محمَّدا

  161. عليه صلاةُ الله ثم سلامُهُ

    به طاب من هذا النظام اختتامُهُ

  162. وجاء بحمد الله حلواً كلامُهُ

    يعز على أهل البيان مرامُهُ

  163. وتمسي له زُهر الكواكب حُسَّدا

    أبثُّ به حادي الركاب مشرِّقا

  164. حديث جهادٍ للنفوس مشوّقا

    رميتُ به من بالعراق مفوّقا

  165. وأرسلت منه بالبديع مطوقا

    حماماً على دَوح الثناء مغرّدا

  166. ركضتُ به خيلَ البيان إلى مدى

    فأحرزتُ فضلَ السبق في حلبة الهدى

  167. ونظّمتُ من نظم الدراري مقلَّدا

    وطوّقتُ جيد الفخر عِقداً منضدا

  168. وقمتُ به بين السِّمَاطين مِنشدا

    نسقْتُ من الإحسان فيه فرائدا

  169. وأرسلتُ في روض المحاسن رائدا

    وقلّدتُ عِطف الملك منه قلائدا

  170. تعوّدتُ فيه للقبول عوائدا

    فلا زلت للفعل الجميل معوِّدا

  171. ولا زلت للصنع الجميل مجدّدا

    ولا زلت للفخر العظيم مخلدا

  172. وعُمِّرتَ عُمراً لا يزال مجدَّدا

    وعُمِّرتَ بالأبناء أوحدا أوحدا

  173. وقرَتْ بهم عيناك ما سائق حدا
