Your food from the abode of bliss you have sent,

So I have relished it though I know not nor comprehend.

On a plateau of bounty we have ascended its summits,

Hunting with its heights the noblest of birds.

And partridges that we have circled with the splendor of its full moon,

As the flowers and stars circle the moon.

And it was carried above heads because it is

A gift from the Master who arrived at the pinnacle of pride.

So whatever ripe, refined flavor you wished,

And whatever fragrant, subtle scent you wished.

Had it been presented to a caliph,

He would have esteemed it greatly and given abundant thanks.

And how many bounties upon me you have lavished,

Too numerous for the beautiful to express.

So you remain, O Master of Kings, conveyed to me

My wishes stretching to the ancients of time.
