تُفّاحَةٌ بِتُّ بِها لَيلَتي
أَبُثُّها سِرِّيَ وَالشَكوى
An apple tree spends my nights
I tell it my secret sorrows and laments
أَضُمُّها مُعتَنِقاً لاثِماً
إِذا ذَكَّرتُ خَدَّ مَن أَهوى
I embrace it closely, guilty
When it reminds me of the cheek of my beloved
