ليت رقيبي لم يَكُن أحولا

إذ لم يكن أعمى ولا أعوَرا

I wish my watcher were not cross-eyed

Since he was neither blind nor one-eyed

لِأَنَّ مَن يُبصر من واحدٍ

شَيئين أولى الناس أن يُحذَرا

For he who sees with one eye

People must beware of him, verily
