1. تخُط يَخُط الشوْقُ في القلْبِ شَخْصَها

    ففي كل ما تَأْتِيهِ حُسْنٌ وتَحْسِينُ

    Longing draws her figure in the heart

    So in all that comes to it there is beauty and elegance

  2. وليسَتْ تُطيقُ الشينَ في حالِ نُطقِها

    فمِنْ أجلِ بُعْدِ الشينِ بَاعَدهَا الشيْنُ

    Yet she cannot bear the "sh" sound when uttered

    So for the sake of avoiding "sh" she distanced it, "sh"

  3. إذا رقَصَتِ أَبْصَرْتَ كل بَديعَةٍ

    تَرَى أَلِفًا حينا وحِينًا هي النونُ

    When she dances you see every grace

    At times appearing as "a", at times she is "n"

  4. فيا نُزْهَةَ الأبْصَارِ سُميت نُزَهةً

    لكيْ يُوضِحَ المَعْنى بَيانٌ وتَبْيينُ

    O delight of sights, you were named Nuzaḥa
