شَهدنا صَلاة العيد في ارض غربةٍ

بأحواز مصر والأحبة قد بَانوا

We witnessed Eid prayers in a foreign land

In Egypt's suburbs, while loved ones are far

فقلت لخلّى في النوى جُد بدَمعةٍ

فَلَيس لنا الا المدامعَ قُربانُ

I told my friend with tearful eyes -

For we have naught but tears as sacrifice
