1. إِلى الله أَشكو ما تُكن الجوانحُ

    تقاطعت الارحام حتى الجَوارحُ

    I complain to God of what the wings conceal

    Bonds of kinship have been severed to the core

  2. فلستَ تَرى الا قلوباً وألسُناً

    مُخالفةً هذى لهذى كواشحُ

    You see only hearts and tongues

    Each of them contradicting the other unveiled

  3. فللقلبِ عَقد واللسانُ بنطقهِ

    يُخالِفه والفعلُ للكُلّ فاضحُ

    The heart has its own covenant and the tongue with its speech

    Contradicts it while the deed for all is evident
