يا منتهى الآمال

ومقصد الطلاب

O ultimate hope

And goal of seekers

عبدك ضعيف الحال

الخائف المرتاب

Your weak servant

Fearful and doubtful

أتاك خال البال

عن جملة الأحباب

Came to you with a preoccupied mind

Away from all loved ones

ضاقت به الأحوال

وخانت الأسباب

Life's circumstances narrowed

And causes failed him

لم يدر ما يصنع

من شدة الحيرة

He knew not what to do

In his great confusion

عمره مضى أجمع

في السعي والدوره

His life passed altogether

Seeking and wandering

والوقت قد ضيع

في خدمة الصوره

And time was wasted

In service of appearances

والآن قلبه مال

إلى لزوم الباب

But now his heart is inclined

To hold fast to the door

وصرف هم السر

عن خدمة الأجسام

And divert his innermost thoughts

From serving bodies

مع اعتناق البر

والترك للآثام

While embracing righteousness

And leaving sins

يا ربنا يسر

له الذي قد رام

O our Lord, facilitate

What he has sought

يا دائم الأفضال

يا بر يا تواب

O Ever-Bountiful

O Kind O Relenting
