أهلاً وسهلاً بالظبي الأغيد

مكحل العينين وردي الخد

Hello and welcome, graceful gazelle

With kohl-lined eyes and rosy cheek

عذب اللمى الدري رشيق القد

وافى حمانا في الصباح الأسعد

Sweet-lipped, slender, and elegant

You came to us on the happiest morn

فقلت خيم يا مليح يا زين

وابشر فقد أصبحت قرة العين

I said, settle down, O beautiful one, O joy

Receive good news, for you are the delight of my eye

فلا تذقني مرارة البين

والبعد منك يا غزال ثهمد

So taste not the bitterness of estrangement

And distance from you, O fawn, is harrowing

ولا تعدي يا ظبى عيديد

في ربعنا الوفا بالتأكيد

Do not go away, O splendid gazelle

Loyalty here is assured, no doubt

ساعات وصلك كلها عيد

وأنت لي في الغانيات مقصد

Your visits are nothing but celebration

You are the object of my songs

لما بدا لي وجهك المنور

كأنه بدر التمام أسفر

When your radiant face appeared

Like the full moon rising at dawn

أيقنت أن الشوس عني أدبر

وأن عهد الأنس قد تجدد

I knew hardship had left me behind

And the era of intimacy was renewed

فالحمد للَه الذي تكرم

ونفس الكربة وفرج الهم

So praise be to God, so generous

Who relieved anxiety and distress

وبعد صلي اللَه وسلم

على النبي الهاشمي محمد

And may Allah send blessings and peace

Upon the Prophet Muhammad, the Hashimite
