قدمتَ قدومُ اليسر في أَثرِ العُسرِ

وجئت كما جاءَ الغنى بدل الفقر

You came with ease after hardship

And you arrived as wealth came after poverty

فاهلاً به من قادمِ كانَ قربُه

كروح أتى المكروب من حيث لا يَدري

Welcome to the one whose nearness

Was like a soul that came to the afflicted unknowingly

قربتَ فعمر الليلّ نزرُّ وإِن تغبْ

فيا بُعدَ ما بين الغرُوب إِلى الفجر

You drew near, so the night lived briefly even if you were absent

Oh, what a distance between sunset and dawn!

حكت أَلف شهرٍ ليلةً منك في النوى

على انها عند اللقا ليلَة القدرِ

You counted a thousand months in a night in thoughts

As if it was the Night of Power at the time of meeting

وعدتَ فعادت في صدورِ قلوبِها

فاهلاً وسهلاً بالفؤاد إِلى الصدرَ

You promised and so their hearts returned

Welcome and greetings to the heart into the chest

فحمدٌ وشكر إِن ربَّك لم يكنَ

يكافي بغير الحمد لله والشكرَ

So thanks and praise, indeed your Lord was not

To be requited except by thanks and praise to God
