1. رمتني فلا شلت يداها بأسهم

    من اللحظ لا تخطى فؤاداً بها رمي

    She shot me with arrows, so I did not grasp her hands

    From the moment, no heart crosses except the one she shoots

  2. ولم أرمها لكن جرحت خدودها

    بلحظي فأدماها فقلت للومي

    And I did not shoot her, but her cheeks wounded

    With my gaze, so I bloodied them, so I said to my blamer

  3. كلانا به جرح ولكن جرحها

    به الدم من لحظي وجرحي بلا دم

    Both of us are wounded, but her wound

    Is with blood from my gaze, while my wound is without blood

  4. فحجتها أقوى ولو كشف الغطا

    رثى لي مما في الحشا كل مسلم

    So her argument is stronger, and if the cover was removed

    Every Muslim would eulogize me for what is in the courtyard

  5. وحدثني عنها خبير بحالها

    بما لم يكن عندي ولا في توهمي

    And an expert in her condition told me

    What I did not have, nor in my imagination

  6. وقال لها خد يورده الحيا

    فيحمر إن تزهق لفرط التنغم

    And he said to her, take the cheek that life makes red

    So it reddens if it fades from the excess of melody

  7. توهمته لما رأيت احمراره

    بوجنتها جرحا به الخد قد دمي

    I imagined it when I saw its redness

    On her cheek a wound that bloodied the cheek

  8. فلحظك مظلوم بهذا وخدها

    فلا تجزعن فاللحظ غير مكلم

    So your gaze is wronged in this and her cheek

    So do not worry, the gaze does not speak

  9. فهوّن عني بعض مابي وزادني

    على الوجد وجدا زادني في تألمي

    So reassure me of some of my affliction and add

    To my passion, more passion, adds to my pain

  10. وليس مقالي هان ما بي مناقضاً

    لقولي زاد الوجد والوجد مسقمي

    And my words do not mean to contradict

    My saying, the passion increased and the passion made me sick

  11. فكم من قضايا ذات وجهين ترتضي

    لوجه وتأباها لوجه مذمم

    So how many issues have two faces, you accept

    For one face and reject it for a dispraised face

  12. فتهوينه من حيث أطماع ناظري

    ومن حيث أني لم أصبها بمؤلم

    So its appeasement in terms of my observers’ hopes

    And in terms that I did not hurt her with pain

  13. وإني متى ارتع عيوني جمالها

    رتعن بلحظ فيه غير محرم

    And whenever my eyes graze her beauty

    They graze with a gaze in which there is no sanctity

  14. وأما ازدياد الوجد فالأمر ظاهر

    وأنت بهذا منه غير معلم

    As for the increase of passion, the matter is clear

    And you, with this, are not knowing from it

  15. أما في الذي أحكيه ما يبعث الشجا

    ويكثر أشواق المحب المتيم

    As for what I recount, it inspires yearning

    And increases the longing of the enamored lover

  16. ومن شك فيه شك في الشمس ضحوة

    وفي كونكم في الملك من عهد آدم

    And whoever doubts it doubts the sun at dawn

    And that you in the kingdom since the era of Adam

  17. فإنك عبدالله صفوة أحمد

    سلالة إسماعيل أنجب ضيغم

    For you are Abdullah, the elite of Ahmed

    The lineage of Ismail who begot Dhighim

  18. تنقلت في الأملاك من عهد آدم

    إِلى اليوم ملك عن مليك معظم

    You have transferred in the kingdoms since the era of Adam

    To this day, a king from a magnificent king

  19. فسادوا وقادوا عالمين بأنهم

    بسعدك نالوا كل فوز ومغنم

    So they ruled and led the two worlds, for they

    Through your good fortune, attained all winning and booty

  20. وفت بمواعيد السعادة دولة

    تمخضت الأيام عنها بمنعم

    And the state of happiness fulfilled its promises

    That the days gave birth to, with blesser

  21. فجاءت به جلد القوى متقوما

    مع الله والإِسلام أيَّ تقوم

    So it came with the skin of the straightened powers

    With God and Islam - what straightening!

  22. فيا طالبي العليا اصرفوا عن حديثها

    فما ثَم فيها موضع المتكلم

    So O seeker of the sublime, divert from talk of her

    For there is no place for the speaker therein

  23. أمن بعد عبدالله فيها لطامع

    مرام يقوى عزمه المتهمم

    After Abdullah, is there for the ambitious covetous

    An intention that his determination imagines

  24. توجه نحو الطالبين وصالها

    فأسلاهم عنها بضرب مهدم

    Turn toward the seekers of her company

    So deter them from her with a destructive blow

  25. فلا ملك إلا مثل ملكك رحمة

    من الله لا يشقى بها غير مجرم

    For there is no kingdom but like your kingdom, mercy

    From God, through which no sinner is miserable

  26. إذا ثقلت أيام ملك على الورى

    فأيامك الحسنى تواريخ أنعم

    If the days of a kingdom become heavy on the people

    Then your good days are inscribed prosperities

  27. وحبك قد ألقاه في الماء ربه

    فيشرب كل منه حبك إن ظمى

    And your love, God has cast it in the water

    So everyone who is thirsty drinks your love

  28. الست ترى كيف الهوى يستخفهم

    ويبدو عليهم حين تبدو عليهم

    Do you not see how desire makes light of them

    And appears upon them when it appears upon them

  29. وقد ملئت تلك القلوب محبة

    لهم فيك تنشى بالحيا والتحشم

    And those hearts have been filled with

    Love for them in you, kindled with life and propriety

  30. إذا قيل عبدالله أقبل أقبلوا

    يعدون سعيا بين فدٍ وتوءم

    If Abdullah is said, they hasten, hasten

    Rushing eagerly between ransom and twin

  31. وصلت وصول الماء على شدة الظما

    لمن لاحه لفح الهجير وقد حمى

    You have arrived with the arrival of water upon intense thirst

    To one who's appearance heated the heated noon

  32. فكنت لهم كالوالد البر ان دعوا

    أجبت وأن يستعصموا بك تعصم

    So you were to them like the righteous father, if they called

    You answered, and if they sought protection through you, you gave protection

  33. فايديهم مرفوعة لك بالدعا

    وألسنهم تملى الثنا رطبة الفم

    So their hands are raised to you in supplication

    And their tongues recite praise, wet of mouth

  34. وأنت لخير الرسل خير خليفة

    فصل عليه ما استطعت وسلم

    And you are the best successor to the best of messengers

    Send blessings upon him as much as you can and greetings
