1. هو البدر في أفلاكه يتنقل

    تحل به فيها السعود وترحل

    He is the full moon in its orbit moving about

    He comes to reside in it, felicity and departure alternate

  2. فإن سار فالعلياء والمجد مركب

    وإن حل فالافراج والبشر منزل

    If he travels, the heights and glory are his mount

    And if he stays, relief and good news are his abode

  3. وتخصب أرض حلها بعد جدبها

    وتورق حتى الصخر فيها ويبقل

    The land where he stays becomes fertile after barrenness

    Even rocks in it sprout and bring forth vegetation

  4. وما ضرها أن السحائب أقبلت

    وأنملة فيها تسح وتهمل

    It is not harmed that clouds came toward it

    And ants in it crawl lazily and become listless

  5. إذا أمطرت ارضا سحائب جوده

    فلا القطر مرفوع ولا العام ممحل

    When the clouds of his generosity rain on a land

    Neither is the rain withheld, nor the year made fruitless

  6. وتحسد أرض فيه أرضا إذا مشى

    ومس ثراها من مواطيه انعل

    And a land there envies, when he walks, a land

    And his trailing robe touches its plains

  7. أبا أحمد قد قدس الله بقعة

    تظل المطايا نحوها بك ترفل

    O Abu Ahmad! May God sanctify the spot

    Where horses yearn toward it with you trotting

  8. هنيئا لأهل الشام إنك رحمة

    من الله فيهم من قريب تنزل

    Congratulations to the people of Syria! You are

    A mercy from God upon them, coming down from near

  9. غدا وخيول العدل منبك مغيرة

    على جنبات الجور تسبي وتقتل

    Tomorrow the horses of justice with Mughira leading

    Will raid the sides of injustice, capturing and killing

  10. يطيرها إن طار في الأفق خلفه

    وتحزن في عقباه ركضا وتسهل

    It frightens them away if it takes flight in the horizon

    And in its tracks they grieve, running and slipping

  11. ولا تأتلي حتى تعفى مكانه

    وتغسله والجور بالعدل يغسل

    It does not stop until it makes his place vacant

    And washes it while injustice is washed away by justice

  12. وتنكشف الغما ويبصر ذو العما

    ويفتح باب للندى ليس يقفل

    Clouds disperse and the blind see

    And a door to clarity is opened, never to be locked

  13. وحسب البرايا منك رؤية طلعة

    يرى يمنها في داره المتأمل

    It suffices the open expanses to see your rising

    One who contemplates sees your blessings in his abode

  14. وظل مديد فيه حبا تفيؤا

    إذا حالت الأفيآء لا تتحول

    And an extended shade wherein affection took shelter

    When the shades move about, it does not change

  15. تجيب على بعد نداء صريخهم

    وتحمل من أعبائهم ما تحملوا

    You answer from afar the scream of their supplication

    And you carry from their burdens what they carried

  16. وأنت بهم أحفى من الأب بابنه

    وألين فيهم منه خلقا وأسهل

    You are more protective of them than a father of his son

    And kinder to them in nature and easier

  17. يمتون من نعماك فيهم بحرمة

    إليك بها ما خاب من يتوصل

    They live in prosperity through your blessings upon them

    To you through it, he who aims does not miss

  18. وحسن ظنون فيك مازلت عندها

    تصدق ما ترويه عنك وتنقل

    You continued being true to their good assumptions of you

    Believing and conveying what is told about you

  19. أبا أحمد تهنيك رؤيتك ابنه

    فقرة عين المرء شبل يشبل

    O Abu Ahmad! Congratulations on your son seeing you

    The delight of a man's eye, a cub that grows up

  20. تفرع من فرع ترعرع ناشئا

    فبورك في الفرعين ثان واول

    Branching out from a branch that grew

    So blessings upon the two branches, the second and the first

  21. وبورك في الميلاد منه وأصبحت

    عليه المعالي وهو طفل يطفل

    And blessings upon his birth from it, and you woke up

    With glories upon it while he is a child playing

  22. ومن كان إسمعيل اصلا لفرعه

    نشا نشأة فيها الفلاح موكل

    Whoever's origin was Ishmael, was brought up

    In an upbringing wherein success is entrusted

  23. وأمست باذن الله في حفظ عهده

    ملائكة والروح فيها تنزل

    And by the will of God, under your covenant protection

    Angels and the Spirit descend upon it

  24. يحوطونه من كل سوء يناله

    ويرعونه والله يرعاه من علو

    Guarding him from every harm that may touch him

    And watching over him while God watches over him from on high

  25. وأنت أبا العباس للخلق كلهم

    إذا فزعوا حصن منيع ومعقل

    And you, O Abu Al-Abbas, are to all people

    A stronghold and refuge when they panic

  26. شغلت الورى عمن سواك من الورى

    فليس لهم إلا عليك معول

    You preoccupied the creation away from others

    For they have no reliance except upon you

  27. وانسيتهم آباءهم وبنيهم

    ومثلك محبوبا ينسي ويشغل

    And you made them forget fathers and sons

    One loved like you makes forget and preoccupies

  28. جرى في مجاري الروح حبك فيهم

    فلم يبق عرق لست فيه ومفصل

    Your love flowed in their souls' channels

    No vein left without you pulsing in it

  29. وفي مهجتي حب وأزعم أنه

    يكافىء حب العالمين ويعدل

    And in my innermost being is love, and I claim

    It equals all the world's love and matches it
