سرور عم حتى ما عرفنا
مهني العالمين من المهنا
Joy has spread far and wide
Bringing delight to all mankind
وافراح تروى الدهر منها
وصفق وانثنى طربا وغنى
With gladness he danced and sang
Swaying in joyful abandon
وهز الملك عطفيه اختيالا
كما هز النسيم الرطب غضنا
The king waved his sleeves in a flourish
As gentle breeze sways the wet branch
واقبلت الخلافة وهي تيها
تبختر مشية وتجر ردنا
Succession came swaying in joy
Striding proudly, trailing its train
هنيئا للممالك يوم طهر
ملا الافاق احسانا وحسنا
A joyous day for the kingdom
When goodness and beauty shine
اقرعيون أهل الأرض فيه
سرور لم يدع في الأرض حزنا
People of earth, rejoice today
When sorrow is banished away
ولم يختص قطرا دون قطر
ولكن عمهم سهراً وحزنا
No land singled out from its peers
But all share in joy and sorrow
لقد رأت الخلافة من بنيها
بحمد الله ما كانت تمنى
Succession has seen in its sons
Thanks to God what it had wished
رأت أشبال ضيغمها لديه
مشابهة له صورا ومعنى
It saw its lion cubs embody
His image and meaning, matchless
ومن يشبه أباه فما تعدى
وهل للأسد إلا الأسد ابنا
The one who takes after his father
Can lion sire but lion junior?
لقد نشر الختان الفضل عنهم
وصرح عن شهامتهم وكنا
They bared swords, displaying their merit
Their courage and zeal evincing
مشوا نحو الحديد بلا احتفال
وقد شحذ الحديد لهم وسنا
Took to the steel blithely, sans worry
The whetted blade eager to sing
فما ارتعدت فرائصهم لديه
ولا نكصوا على الأعقاب جبنا
Their steeds showed no fear or retreat
No weakness, no flight from the field
ولكن زاد أوجههم ضياء
وأجزل في طلاقتهم واسنا
Their faces lit up brighter instead
Their composure and poise enhancing
فلا تتعجبوا لمضاه فيهم
فإن رضاهم قد كان اذنا
If they resemble their father, no wonder
To please him is their life's mission
ولو نظروا الحديد بعين سخط
تصدع واكتسى ذلا وهنا
Had they eyed the steel in displeasure
It would crack and crumple in failure
أبا العباس هذا يوم نحرٍ
أقمت بذكره للملك وزنا
Father of excellence, this is a day
In song and verse for you made
نحرت لأجله الأكياس تبراً
إذا نحر الملوك إليه بدنا
For you were spent coins in plenty
When kings themselves are sacrificed
وجادت سحب جودك واستهلت
على العافين من هنّا وهنّا
Your clouds of bounty rained goodness
On all men in need by your grace
وما من بعد هذا الطهر إلا
بلوغهم بك العيش المهنا
After this happy and blessed day
Only joy with you can they taste
وتشريف مراكيبا ولبسا
وإقطاع أقاليما ومدنا
Honoring you, attiring you grandly
Endowing you lands and abodes
وتودهم العوادي للإعادي
وكل كتيبة جشاء رعنا
Loving you, the noble turned kind
Each horde now a gentle reed
فللإِقطاع نحوهم اشتياق
إذاب حشا العلا وجدا وأضنى
Yearning to endow you with more
Melting envy, spite, and cold greed
فبشرى للمراتب والمعالي
بأشرف من بهم رتبا يهنا
Good news to ranks and dignitaries
That the finest of all leads their breed
وأكرم من تمد إليه طرفا
وتصغى نحوه العلياء أذنا
The noblest whom they serve and revere
The loftiest their hearing does heed
ومن يك فرع إسمعيل أمسى
وأعلى كل فرع منه أدنى
You, Hashimite scion, have gained
Over branches the uppermost reach
ولم يحوجه ملك أبيه سعيا
إلى شرف يشاد له وَيُبنى
No striving for rank on your father's part
To raise you or build you a palace
غنوا بك عن مجاذبة الأماني
وهم لك عن حديث النفس أعني
Free from coveting wishes or dreams
Or prattle and murmurs from soul
وهل من مفخر لم يبلغوه
فيعذر فيه من منهم تمنى
What glory you missed that they gained?
It would shame them if you craved such a goal
معاذ الله أنتم أهل بيت
سرور الفخر ان ترضوه قنا
God forbid! Yours is a house
Pleased with glory is your rule
الم أن نسود بك البرايا
إذا بشريف خدمتك افتخرنا
If serving you made us feel proud
When we know full well how we've been
ترجينا الأنام وتتقينا
لديك ونحن نعرف كيف كنا
Your shelter fulfilled all our hopes
Had we wished for the sky, we'd have won
بلغنا من جوارك ما أردنا
ولو شئنا السماء إذا بلغنا
May God make your life always happy
Enjoying your rule and your friends
ادام الله عيشك في نعيم
تلذ به وامراه واهنا
And grant them what they wish from your might
Grant us what we wish from your grace
وبلغهم بعزك ما أرادوا
وبلغنا بجودك ما أردنا
