I bid Paris farewell, though my heart remains there
With a girl whose beauty captivates
Her glances magnetically draw souls and eyes alike
Pearls shy from her smile
And branches blush should she glance their way
In his passion for her, the old becomes young again
And in her splendor, the tongue-tied grows eloquent
I like that she is frank, revealing what she hides within
Her face is a mirror of her heart’s contents
So everything about her is plain to see
For a time, I dwelt in her abode
After her, my heart knows no peace
Though Paris has many a beauty
This one outshines them all
Her image proclaims that He who shaped her
Was consummate in His craft
Louise is the divine light in His dominion
All who behold her become believers
