لا تأسينّ على ما كان من مرضٍ

فربَّ جسم بداءٍ قد عرا صلحا

Do not grieve what illness has passed,

For many a body by disease has gained health.

أما ترى البدر يعرو جسمَهُ سقمٌ

وينثني بوشاحِ الحسنِ متشحا

Do you not see the moon, her face sick,

Yet she wraps herself in a shawl of beauty.
