بَعيدُ اللقا وافَى وأنجز موعدي
فيا قلب بشرى بالسرور المجددِ
The long-awaited meeting has arrived and fulfilled my promise
So my heart, rejoice at the renewed joy
وزار وطيب الندّ ساد أمامه
فيا مهجتي طيبي بمورده الندي
He came with a gentle hand and kindness prevailed before him
So my soul, delight in his generous stream
وأسفر عن وجهٍ وسيم مقسمِ
قد افترّ عن ثغرٍ بسيم منضدِ
He revealed a handsome face with an alluring smile
That surpassed the edge of sharp swords
وجال بلحظٍ يعلم اللهُ أنه
تجاوز عن حدّ الحسامِ المهندِ
He glanced with a look, God knows, that
Exceeded the blades of polished Indian swords
ورنح قداً مثل غصنٍ على نقا
بأعلاه بدر التم من فوق فرقدِ
He swayed a neck like a branch bending over a sapling
With above it a full moon from over the horizon
وطاف بأقداح إذا ما رأيتها
رأيت لجيناً فيه ذائبُ عسجدِ
He went around with cups, if you saw them
You would see pearls dissolved in pure wine
وناولنَيها والدلالُ يهزّه
وقال لمضناه إلى فيك من يدي
He handed them to me while the cupbearer shook them
And said to me with his inclination, “Drink from my hand”
وبات يعاطيني حديثاً عن الهوى
ألذّ من الماء الفرات إلى الصدي
He conversated with me about love
Sweeter than Euphrates water to the rocky valley
حديثاً حوى سحر البيان كأنهُ
عقود جمان من مقالِ محمدِ
A conversation that contained the sorcery of eloquence as if it
Were strands of pearls from the speech of Muhammad
ملبيِّ الندا رب الندى معدن الهدى
مذيق العدا طعم الردى والتبدد
Responsive to calls, the Lord of dew, source of guidance
Taster of pleasure, flavor of misery and loss
طليق المحيا واللسانِ مهذبُ ال
سجايا نقيّ القلبِ والذيلِ واليدِ
Unrestrained humor, refined speech
Pure of manners, tail, and hand
تسامي على أقرانهِ بفطانةٍ
وفضل وإقدامٍ وفخرٍ وسؤددِ
Towering over his peers in intelligence
Superiority, valor, pride, and excellence
وفكرٍ يكادُ اليومُ من صدقِ حدسهِ
يُخَبِّرهُ عما سيحصل في غدِ
A mind that almost informs him today
Of what will happen tomorrow
وقوة جأشٍ واهتمام إلى العلى
ودقة تهذيب وحسن توددِ
Ardent fervor and care for the Most High
Refined courtesy and gentle affection
وبأس لجبار وبشر لبائس
ولين لمستجْدٍ وقهر لمعتدِ
Power to subdue the tyrants, good news for the miserable
Softness for the newly converted, and domination over the aggressive
سماحة أخلاق براعة منطق
عذوبة ألفاظ ورأي مسددِ
Generosity, eloquence, sweet words
Sound opinion, and guided judgement
فيا مفرداً دانت جموع الورى له
ولم نرَ جمعاً قبلُ دانَ لمفردِ
O you who alone multitudes of people surrendered to
Never before have we seen crowds submit to one
يهنيك بالخير الجزيل وبالثنا ال
جميل وبالمجدِ الأثيل المشيدِ
I congratulate you on the abundant good, the beautiful praise
The everlasting, glorious honor
فكم لك من فضلٍ به تشهد العدا
وكم لك من عرف وكم لك من يدِ
For you have many virtues that bear witness against the enemies
Many honors, and much aid for you
وكم لك بين العالمين مآثر
قضت لك فينا بالثناءِ المخلدِ
Between the two worlds, achievements for you
That have destined you among us with immortal praise
فعش وادْنُ واسلم وارقَ للسعد واغتبط
ودُم وأنمُ وافخر واسْمُ في المجدِ وازددِ
So live in bliss, be safe, surrender to prosperity, rejoice
Stay well, sleep, pride yourself on glory, and increase
وأبشر بعيدٍ عاد بالبشر والصفا
وكبتِ العدا واشكر لربكَ وأحمدِ
Receive good news of the returned celebration and purity
And the defeat of enemies, thank your Lord and praise Him
وقابل من العيد السعيدِ مواسماً
وقوِّ عهودَ الإئتناسِ وجددِ
And accept from the blessed Eid repeated seasons
And renew the covenants of rejoicing and celebration
وحافظ على جمعِ المسرةِ والهنا
وشتت جوع الحادثاتِ وبددِ
And maintain the gathering of joy and delight
And dispel the hunger of tribulations, and destroy them
فقد دانت العليا إليكَ وأرخت
جميع تهاني البِشْرِ عيدُ محمدِ
For the highest ranks have surrendered to you
And all the congratulations of humankind have celebrated the Eid of Muhammad
