صلاة من الرحمن ما دام اهلال

على المصطفي المختار والصحب والآل

A prayer of blessings from the Most Merciful as long as the crescent moon shines

Upon the Chosen One, his companions, and his progeny

بباب رسول اللَه ألقيت أحمالي

فالغيث مقصود وأنضيت أثقالي

I have unloaded my burdens at the door of Allah's Messenger

The rain I seek has come and my heaviness is lifted

أتيت رسول اللَه والدمع خانقٌ

وعَبرة بالخدين والذل أبدى لي

I came to Allah's Messenger with choking tears

And sorrow on my cheeks and humility manifest in me

أتيت نبي اللَه من طول غفلتي

وسهدي وأخطاء كأنه اتلال

I came to the Prophet after long heedlessness

And my missteps and mistakes as if they were hills

وأمعنت أنظاري بدنيا مهينة

فيا رب أرجوك الخلاص واقبال

And I strained my eyes upon a disgraced worldly life

So my Lord I hope for salvation and favor

أتيت بذل وانكسار وخشية

به أرتجي فتحاً وكشفاً وايصال

I came with humility, brokenness, and reverence

Through which I hope for opening, uncovering, and attainment

وغوت لمكروبٍ وغيث لجذبة

مفرّج لخطبٍ بحقب قد استطال

An aid for the distressed and rain for the thirsty

Relief for tribulations that have grown long

أغثني حُسام اللَه انك مُنصف

وسيف لبأساء وذي غمتي حال

Help me O sword of Allah, you are just

A weapon against afflictions and the state of my plight

فقد قرّحن جفني السهاد وخالني

عذولي من ضعفي كشنّ غدا بال

Insomnia has wounded my eyelids and my youth has left me

Because of my weakness like a piercing arrow in the morning

من العتبِ لم أبرح ولا ذاك شيمتي

ولا أخش عذالا وقيلاً ولا قال

I do not cease in repentance nor is that my way

And I do not fear reproach, gossip or words

بحمد إله العالم الفرد منتَمي

ومنذ علقتُ الحب لم أخش إقلال

I take refuge in the praise of the One God of the worlds

And since I tied the knot of love I have not feared scarcity

تصبرتُ حتى قيل لن يعرف الهوى

تجرّعت مُرّ البعد عنه وحتى لي

I was patient until it was said love would not be known

I drank the bitter separation from him until it came to me

وصلى إلهي دائماً كلّ لحظة

على المصطفى من هديه زاح اضلال

And my God always pray, every moment

Upon the Chosen One whose guidance dispelled misguidance

وآلٍ وأصحاب بهم أرتجي المنى

وقصد وما أهوى وسؤلي وتسآل

And his family and companions through whom I hope for purpose

That which I love, my request and questioning

فارجوه أن يمنح عبيداً هاشم

وصحبي وأولادي ورهطي وأنجال

So I hope he grants the servants of Hashim

And my companions, children, clan, and progeny

كذاك سلام اللَه ما بارقٌ سرَي

من الغور أو نجد لدا حبنا الغال

Just as the peace of Allah whenever the dawn breaks

From the valley or from Najd wherever our love reached

وما ناح في الأيك الحمام وغردت

على الورد عجماء وذا مغرم تال

And whenever the doves cooed in the bushes and the finches

Warbled upon the roses, enamored and longing.

صلاة على المختار ما دام اهلال

وآل وأصحاب لهم كل افضال

Blessings upon the Chosen One as long as the crescent shines

And his family and companions, for them is every virtue
